Diesel the giant Newfoundland passed away suddendly last night. You guys know him through pictures. He had larynx pararalysis where his thoat closed up. It's a big dog problem. 10 years old which is not bad for a dog that weighed 160 pounds.

Best wishes, sorry for the loss, he will always be with you.

Steve, so sorry to here about your loss of Diesel. The joy our furry loved ones bring us each day is so special. May the happy memories help ease the pain of your loss.

I'm okay, thanks guys. At 68 I've been through so many pets I accept their end. I hope I can pass over in 20 minutes like Diesel did.

Just a bit of dark humor. When Diesel's mama died, Littel Bear, a couple of years ago she was the same size. Cremation is free because my daughter is vet nurse at a hospital. They called, real respectful and apologetic and if asked if they could the put her in two containers? I said sure. I'm used to people not being ready for dogs the size of small ponies.

My son still has Diesel's son, Nitro. He's not as big and sort of mischevious so the name fits.

It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO helpful to have a veternarian nurse on the phone during all this. If you have emergencies call me and I'll connect you with Kylie. Save this message

Talking about dark humor. I guess the same night you dealt with Diesel I was dealing with the same thing and my cat Groot and putting him to sleep. It was around 9 when I got home in the middle of a storm, I park my car and walk around to get his body and literally say out loud something to the effect of "I hope I did the right thing for you" when I hear a sizzle and loud electric sounds and sparks start raining down. I thought a bolt of lightning was answering me as I scrambled out of the way. Turned out it was the tree I parked under hitting the power lines with all the wind, still not sure if there is a message to interpret there. But it was a reminder I can move fast when I have to!
