Dome light fuse blowing

I found the problem wire! It controls the console courtesy lights. My brakes, map, glove bix and dome lights are all working again. I unplugged the console feed from the fuse box so I can trace the short!

Slow&easy always works! Still trying to figure out the washing sequence?

I think the console tie in is near the left kick panel, maybe the leak got to it?

The car console wiring goes down the door post like Theeewood posted under the wire race below the sill trim about half way down the door opening then exits the race way and along the floorboard to the console under the drivers seat.

Thanks Jim. I pulled the kick panel and found the yellow and pink wires, then my test light went on the fritz. So far I was able to isolate it directly to the console harness. Now I need to test for the short in the wire or see if it's in one of the lamp sockets on the console. My major issue is time and convenience. I share the garage and space is limited to work on her. At least all my other lights work, so I can safely drive her. The feed wire to fuse box is disconnected.

My car the sill plate screw was run through the rear speaker harness

Lovely! Well, we're the one's that turned these cars into icons. Back in the days of these being newly assembled, it was just a job building cars with less than stellar men on the line building them. They didn't care, it was just a job, right?
