Don’t ship with USPS!

It was not a valid address so could not be delivered.

It says "Not deliverable as addressed", meaning address was possibly valid, but addressee was not , that does not IMO preclude that it was delivered and the receiver returned it to USPS as an unknown addressee, months later.
I don't believe the USPS spends any effort nor has the time nor funds to verify everything mailed has the correct addressee, they rely on the civic duty of the resident to return misaddressed mail, and are at their mercy how prompt that occurs. It is a felony offense for first class mail, not to do so knowingly, I believe.

My parcel arrived today in one piece, and no brokerage fees, so I for one am happy with USPS

In fiscal year 2024, USPS is reporting a 9.5 BILLION dollar loss. Just two years after they received a taxpayer bailout totaling 107 billion dollars.Staggering mismanagement, waste and abuse.

Still the best system at the best price. It's not going anywhere, ever. It's our system. Who would replace it, FedEx.

That’s unacceptable. We can’t afford to keep dumping money down these holes.

You are assuming that the nation receives no benefits at all from the outlay of these funds?

Raising kids are also big money holes, maybe do away with having kids?

Canada Post is the same way; loses big $$$ every year. Now, they are on strike, so no mail. I am in the process of converting my mailed paper bills to e-mail alerts ( paperless ) in order to pay them. So, that is 5 or 6 pieces of mail per month that Canada Post won't have to deliver. Do they think that once their strike is over, that I will change back? NO. They are shooting themselves in their feet.
Whenever I order smaller stuff from U.S.A., I prefer to use U.S.P.S. Since they are a bonded carrier, their shipments come into Canada without an additional brokerage fee, saving me $$$ each time.

USPS has been pretty good with my stuff except for once a small package to NV from TX went to NY (IIRC) first then across the northern states then down to NV. It got to the address in good shape at least lol. UPS started up charging my account when I was using them. I complained but got nowhere. I even added several extra pounds. My scale always agreed with the scale at the drop off center and still got an up charge for too low weight. Screw em. Everything goes to the post office now.

Problem with USPS is, if they are losing money they should charge more.
How much of that junk mail is subsidized?
If they charged what they needed to it might drive the necessary changes in the marketplace

Canada Post gives good service and I try to use them if possible, They've been going on strike just ahead of Christmas since the 70's though. These unions kill everything they get their hands on. I think their starting wage for no qualification, new employees is in the $25/hr range. Govt. business models do not work. Canada healthcare is pretty much the same, CBC media is a huge loser too for a limited and narrow minded audience.
Govt. business top management build empires with little thought to the end user, unions get their members terrific benefits that would sink a private corporation and it always ends badly. The solution is always the same, break them up and privatize them.

Sorry but private prisons is IMO a good argument against that solution.
Perfection here is the enemy of good.
The junk mail is bad in so many ways. Mine never even makes it inside the house.

USPS has always worked for me as I have an account with them for all my shipping needs and get very good package rates when I need them. Maybe those having an issue might want to get an account themselves as they can get shipping materials for free and can arrange pickups at their homes. I print my own labels through them so everything is done here and I no longer have to hit the PO branch and stand in line to pay and get it shipped. Or if I happen to be going in the direction of the branch, all I do is just walk in and drop the package at the closed counter and it gets picked up and in the sort for outgoing. I have also bought forever stamps before the next price increase so I have about 6/100 stamp rolls as I don't mail very much regular mail anymore but when I need a stamp, I have one. But, as they keep mismanaging themselves, plus the "Golden Parachutes" for their retirement packages that they keep promising, it's no wonder that they are so dysfunctional...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

Mailed a package to a member here back in September and it still has not arrived. WTF

will be interesting to see if the new department of government efficiency will straighten any of this b.s. out or make it worse

The USPS handles 318 million pieces of mail daily.
UPS handles 14 million packages daily.
I think many are setting the bar a bit high here.

the usps is funding retirement bennies for future employees. that is 1 reason why the losses are staggering. yes, some places like hazelwood, missouri need to be closed because the people there are lay azzes and know they cannot be fired because of union protection. not a lot of choices. i have lost 4 packages from them in my life and count my blessing that that was all, SO FAR.

We just had an issue with them. Mailed a Relief check to NC, for the Hurricane Aid, on 10/15. As of today, it has Not arrived. I've always supported the USPS, but it's another overpaid, Govt Agency, and it's time to revamp, or replace it. I hope it gets some attention from the new DOGE Bureau, and they get it on track, both operative, and financially...
