me too any silver vehicles, my painter friend hates it when I show up.

Years ago I didn't like silver all that much but I'm liking it much more these days. I also hear it has a tendency to run easier than other paint colors?

Well worked on the distributor set the mechanical advance and changed the springs to a little heavier, wow what a difference, plus adjusting the fuel injection to the correct afr ratios and prime shots. thing runs like a top. very nice just touching the key at any temperature and firing up and idling not touching the throttle at all. My fuel pressure is an 52 a little low for the recommended setting. gonna bump it to 56 and see what happens, dual electric fans set up to the fitech control pretty nice I can have it turn on and off at any temperature. Off to the lake tomorrow for final test and tune. she's nearly perfect.

Seriously, it's a great car and I think a well running car you can truly drive and enjoy are what makes all the details you sweated worth it. Congrats on a great car!

thats why "nearly perfect" was chosen. you guinest me, went to check the oil and the stack dip tube seemed a little loose and snap, S.O.B. well after returning from the local parts store which I saw a older blonde woman working the counter thought o great a new one that doesn't know much well after talking to her she said she used to work there along time again ago, come to find out she was wendy a woman along with april used to sell parts to me in the late 80's. so nice to see a familar face, we talked for about and hour, she asked to see some pics of the car and of course i had to comply, then I took my oil pan gasket home and proceeded to remove the pan to drive out the broken dip tube. everything looked good no shavings and from what i could see of the cam no blueing or any thing out of the ordinary. well just completed putting the pan back on gave up for the day to take the wife for dinner. Will complete the center link install and misc tomorrow, might make it the lake tomorrow, maybe?

well after many hour and many dollars, living in an area where the roads are so bad I had to trailer this sweetheart to my lake property 30 miles away to drive her. I ended up selling her to a guy in new mexico. This build was about doing the absolute best I could do, she wasn't perfect but damn near close, She had about 150 miles of test and tune and not one stone chip or scratch, basicically a brand new car. I have always driven my hot rods this is the first trailer queen I've owned. With stupid prices out there and the way this country is and whats happening I figured this is the perfect time and situation to sell it, so I did. Thanks to all of you out there for your suggestions, kind words, and constructive criticism. looking for my next project, in no hurry hoping prices will decline a bit. thinking of an old dodge truck with suicide doors possibly but open to any cool mopar that may happen along.

yes I do I actually made just under 10k, Mecum gets 10% from the buyer and 10% from me plus a grand to enter. that comes out to about $1.80 an hour for my labor. Not bad I was hoping to break even, usually never even recoup the parts money on these projects.

the buyer is and he knows it, he was very excited to get the car. I talked to him on the phone and he sent me some pics of some very nice resto mods he has done in the last several years. he got this car for good price for what it is

What an amazing job you did on that car! Not gonna lie though, kinda breaks my heart you got rid of her. Hopefully going to a good home.

yes, the guy that bought is a mopar car lover its in good hands, I also was approached by Dodge Garage from FCA. they called and did an over the phone interview with me very cool guys, and was contacted after the sale, about my next project and the project Todd the writer was working on, got to say what a ride this build was would do it all over again. this write up pretty much explains it all.

thank you Don, glad to see your making progress on yours too. you took on a project far more difficult than mine was looking forward to seeing yours complete. Won't be a chevy on my next one though, I like all old cars and trucks but to do what I want to achieve only is worthy of Mopar.

Thank you for kind words, I was torn for a moment between keeping it original and doing a slight restomod, I followed the numbers on the sale of these cars for a very long time before i bought this one, in case I decided to sell this, and being that the funds it took to complete this car ran almost double to my first estimates. I noticed the numbers were beginning to increase in restomods over originallity, with exception of the untouched rare ones, and being that mine was ripped apart so far and lost that original sheet metal etc. thus the turn in direction towards a slight restomod for me, I wasn't intending on selling the car in the beginning but with the investment, the trailer queen thing , the way the market is now, and me getting older and looking at my retirement account, I figured I could possibly sell this get some coin for my future and clear out some room for another one for my self and do one that wasn't so pricey, plus with the possibility of maybe doing one for someone else on there coin, thus satifying my creativity, not looking to make a fortune at it just want to build some more cool stuff before I check out.

Your going to miss that one Don. It was sweet,and it brought good money. The Charger market is hot right now, I am glad that I already have the ones that I got, I am priced out of my own hobby these days. I had my 70 Charger R/T V code car sold right as the pandemic began and they shut down the potential buyers restuarant on the day he was coming to buy the car. I am glad everyday that I still have the car. Good luck with a new project.
