This picture was taken this week in my local junkyard/honey hole in one of the mopar SECTIONS. As you can see it's setting there largely ignored. I had overlooked it in my quest to find anything I might check off my list for my 68 Charger. What I and many others obviously didn't appreciate is the fact that the front of the old girl is B BODY. Not sure of the year bur my tell tale sign is the lower windshield molding. It's the same as my Charger. I peaked in and to my astonishment the dash was largely untouched. Radio and instrument cluster were gone. That was about it.

My Charger was missing some of the A/C ductwork when my Dad bought it or some pieces were messed up. Well wouldn't you know the WHOLE A/C duct system was still in this car.

It even had that blasted, black, fiberglass looking A/C cover that seems to always have cracked and broken corners. The cover was still bolted in as securely and undamaged as the day she came off the assembly line.

I pulled all that stuff out and checked some things off my list. Thanks ole girl your fate is most likely sealed but you help others soldier on!!!!!

I walked out paying $25.00 for everything 10 min from my house.

Great score!! But I'd hate to burst your bubble about the lower windshield trim. On 4 doors and wagons the trim around the windshield are longer pieces due to the steeper rake of the windshield. I know this first hand as I had both in my hand at the same time. The 3 pics below show the different lengths of the lower piece. The top trim piece and two vertical trim pieces are longer as well.

But you only paid $25.00 for all of the parts, not like you lost out. And believe it or not there are 68-70 B Body 4 door guys out there looking for 4 DR related parts.

I appreciate that info. I'm good with all the exterior trim. My point was it lets me know it's a B Body and they are gonna share many internal parts. I left the moldings. Most of what I need is from the inside.

Not just those parts...But may have good original GE headlight bulbs...headlight trim rings and buckets, all small hardware, body plugs etc.....

wheres this yard? Im up in hendersonville and daughter lives in landrum. I might have to check it out. thnx

Just a thought....

As you scour junkyards, please take pictures of fender tags and check glove boxes for window stickers or other factory items. With the rush to crush, you may be the last person to document a car.

Hey Charger, I need the tailgate mechanism for my 69 Belvedere wagon. Would you mind sending me the location of the yard?
Thanks

Oh man, this may just be the "organ donor" car I've been looking for. Did the car look decent on the inside??
