Fruit cakes hitting the local grocery stores everywhere. Do you like fruit cake?
I need a DISAGREE button now.
Rancid nuts can poison you? I’ve definitely eaten rancid peanuts at the bar while drinking. I think I’ve eaten fruitcake toasted with butter on it, not too horrible….There is nothing wrong with fruit cake......unless there are nuts inside.
The problem with the nuts is they tend to go rancid as the cake ages. That is what poisoned many soldiers fighting in WW1 - sent cakes from home (New Zealand & Australia mainly) - by the time the cake arrived on the front lines of Europe & Turkey etc, the nuts had gone bad, and in turn the soldiers were poisoned.
It must have been sent through the USPS.There is nothing wrong with fruit cake......unless there are nuts inside.
