We all seen mopars given away for raffle tickets with donation going to various charities. Has any FBBO member won one of these raffle cars? Anyone has become a member after winning one of these cars? I'm not questioning if the raffles are legit. I just wonder what happens to most of these cars after the raffle is over. Most seem to disappear never to be seen again. If you won of these cars, know some who has, or know of a car that was a giveaway car I would love to hear about it.

Carlisle used to have some nice giveaway cars, used as a tactic to prevent the current mass exodus after Saturday. It appears it didn't work, so they gave it up. Some lucky Mopar guys did well while it lasted.

I know there was a carlisle give away car from 1997 there last year. When they sent me my survey after the show I said it would be great to bring back the give away car.

Nope it's mostly a marketing scam to get your address & phone #s
so they can sell it, to telemarketers, then they "allegedly" give the car to a stranger
or more than likely a buddy/someone closer to the situation instead :carrot:

I did a few local deals for people I knew & a good cause, charities
it was basically a gift to donate or buy a raffle ticket/s
where they spin the drum & pull it out, probably palming it (winning ticket) in their hand :poke:

none of the crap you get in the mail, to good to be true ****,
I don't know of anyone winning
again insider jobs, get the cars :BangHead:

It's rare you hear about someone winning 'a real legit raffle' :hifu:or give away...

I've entered a bunch of car raffles over the years, and sorry to say I have yet to win even one car yet!
I swore I'd never enter another one, but a few weeks ago decided I'd like to be generous to the Alzheimers foundation, so I bought a few tickets for the '72 Roadrunner they are giving away later this month. Something tells me I won't win that car either!
I've seen more than a few of the giveaway raffle cars from previous years end up on eBay or at Mecum auctions. That irritates me because they were from raffles I'd entered and I really wanted the giveaway car and would have kept it and enjoyed it if I'd been the winner, but instead someone won who apparently didn't even want the car.
Dream Giveaways has a lot of red flags that suggest it's a sketchy organization. Several other charities that have car raffles seem more legit, like the Alzheimer's one, and the Ronald McDonald house. Alzheimers always seems to give away a Mopar. The Ronald McDonalds house hasn't given away a Mopar as its prize in a number of years sadly

Late 80’s Carlisle gave away a Wing Car IIRC.

My first time attending the Mopar Nats - 1993 in Indy - I entered.my Satellite and won a door prize which was a chance to win their giveaway car. It was a yellow T/A Challenger. It was in decent shape, but not perfect.

There were 16 of us that each got a turn picking a key out of a fishbowl and trying it in the door. I don't remember how the order was set. I was about 10th in line. My key didn't work. The guy that won it was # 12 or 13. I found out I won a chance on Friday and had to wait until Sunday for the giveaway. My friends and I had some fun discussing what position would give me the best chance to win and who would drive my Satellite and who would drive the Challenger back to FL.

It was fun to get the chance and it would have been cool to win. Those at the end of the line after the winner never even had a chance.

I knew someone a few years ago who won a pair of Camaros in that Dream Car raffle, along with $$ for taxes. I'd personally seen both cars, a classic BB 69 if I recall, plus a new LS-whatever model. Both were black, and they were really nice cars.

As I said from my welcome wagon post, this car Was the 2024 ALZBBQ raffle prize. We originally just wanted to go see the American muscle car museum and I gave my buddy $50 on top of his $50 entry just as a joke. ten tickets was all we had and I still cant believe we won it They covered the taxes and such. But they told us the car was in perfect running order. It very much was not. Radiator full of rust, torque converter draining, hard shifting, backfiring through the carb, misfiring, car wouldn't even spin the tires from a standing start, vacuum leaks, oil leaks, exhaust leaks. The smart thing would've been to turn around and sell it, but we're dumb kids with a dream car in the garage. So We've been slowly nursing her back to good health. We've replaced the alternator, water pump, water pump housing, fuel pump, timing set, flushed the rust out of the block, temporarily replaced the radiator, (we recently sent out the original to get re-cored), rebuilt the carb, done some trial and error tuning, some mild suspension work, and now we're gonna have to rebuild the transmission and replace the torque converter. It's been a HUGE pain in the rear, but I've learned so much and I've had lots of fun putting some long overdue TLC into such a cool car. I hope to hold onto this car for a long time.

Beautiful car. I remember the add for that give away. There always things that will need to be done to any old car. Even with the work you put in I say your still far ahead, then if you were going to restore one from a rust bucket.

Lucky You! If you get sick of working on it, and want to recoup the cost of your raffle ticket, get ahold of me! LOL. Pretty car with nice colour combination. The donating organization can only go on the information supplied by the seller. A large Mopar show up here in Ontario used to give away a classic Mopar each year at their show. Some cars were good, and others were turds. They got some complaints from winners, and eventually quit doing it. They replaced the cars with a cash prize instead. Your car is certainly a long ways from being a turd, and your maintainance work will be rewarded with some top-down cruising in a cool car. I bought a '69 SuperBee, new and presently have a '67 R/T hardtop.

I think Tom Henessey, from N.Y. state won that car. At the time, he also had a restored Red 1968 Hemi S/S Dart.

I have to agree. As far as project cars go, I'm very lucky to have one in such a condition. I may not have full restoration bragging rights, but its still one heck of a car with a heck of a story.
