dual external milodon oil system check valves

just got my check valves yesterday, from earls, no restriction nice little piece. got mine to go in the lines from the pan to the pump to hold oil in the pump. pricey, but what is your engine worth? I am going to put mine in with push loc fittings and call it good. was impressed with the quality of the valves, I'll have no qualms about them at all. Dave.
so..how do they work..my oil pressure is working much better now with the lines at the pump up..upon startup pressure goes right up..

S3, I'll have to get back to you on that, the car is in a storage unit now, needed the floor space to build a hen house, as soon as that is out and the car is back in I'll know in short order. get back to you later, hopefully not to much later. Dave.

Maybe a bit late on this comment. Check valves are a restriction, avoid this at most costs. An accumulator is a great item, I SHOULD run one. The mounting position makes no difference, pressure works in ALL directions.

Well, the darn hen house is at the side and set up. the car has been recovered from the storage unit and is in the shop, tomorrow I will get the oil lines cut and the check valves installed. when I started the car after sitting for a month, took about 8or9 seconds to get pressure, did not rev it any, I will be glad to get the valves on so I don't have to worry about it so damn much. will put my new clay smith fuel pressure guage on, should be worth at least 7 HP, wouldn't you think???? I have bought some sliders to go with my cal-tracs to keep the springs in alignment,,,, I guess?? will put those on tomorrow also. well I'll let all know how much quicker the pressure comes up. until tomorrow, Dave. P.S. for 66 satellite, the earls check valves are NO restriction, none!!! Dave.

well here we are again, got the valves installed, will see what happens tomorrow after sitting overnight, now on to the sliders, does any one recall the position of the slider in relation to the spring eye, does the spring need to be loaded? I'm thinking that I should install them and gently sit the car down on them, move them to center, align them side to side and weld them in??? someone chime in if this is wrong. Dave.

Talk to the guys in the racers hangout couple of them got some good pics and great advice. Good luck with your project

Had oil pressure while cranking, damn sight better than it was. I'll look for some info on malexs posts. thanks, Dave.

they didn't look like there would be,,since its just a 1 way flapper valve..thanks for letting us know.

Been using external line systems for a long time. And I am sure some know this already. Some systems come highly restricted. The swinging pickups feature inlet screens that are very restrictive. And the small ones are held in by a large c-clip that covers maybe a fifth of the holes. So take a look and do the math. You can just leave the screen out.

started the car today to take it in to get the roll bar installed, instant oil pressure! yay!! Been waiting over 7 mo.s for a spot in line at the local race car shop for a chromemoly roll bar. may get to try it out this summer after all. Dave.
