The air cleaner on my 67 RT just seems to rub the under hood insulation cutting it. Are there different heights to these housings? Factory intake and carb no spacers used. Cleaner has 2 oval tapered snouts with breather nipple on drivers side. If there are different housing a height measurement would help.
Thanks Dan

Possible that the insulation is just sagging? I could be wrong, but did '67 not still have round snorkel's? Think oval came later. My '69 California built RR came with oval dual snorkel cleaner because of A/C apparently. Sorry not much help.

You may have a 383 lid instead of a 440 lid. See pics. If you have a 440 pie plate it should fit perfect. If it sits up you have a 383 lid.

Just to clarify, the pie plate may be the problem not the snorkel housing itself.

I think Extraoldestock nailed it. There were few variations from year to year depending on engine combo etc. Decades ago I bought on eBAY a dual snorkel air cleaner for my 1969 383 A/C Roadrunner (383), but it wrong as it wouldn't accept the usual pie-plate as the center was to tall. Live, learn, forget.

So all the bottom plates are the same as long as the opening is the correct size for the carburetor?
I couldn't understand why the previous did this until I read your reply. One day I lifted the pie tin away from the lid only to find the center of the lid was cut out. It left the pie tin to cover the hole and snug the unit. Obviously the tin would not fit the contour of the 383 housing so it was ruined and passed off as correct.
I need a good used 440 1967 housing, anyone willing to part with one?
