Dyno day 511 lives again

BIG numbers! Way to go. Your cam is pretty well bag on to my custom Comp roller.

835 HP Wow....what a build.
It is an example for all of us.
1)
Take a 500" big block Mopar
2) LOTS of compression...13.5 or more
3) Big Roller Cam with lots of duration and lift
4) Big tube headers
5) Big Single Plane Intake and 1050 DOMINATOR
6) Heads that flow 380cfm
Plus...I would presume you have all the other normal stuff, MSD, Roller Rockers, etc, etc.
THANKS for reminding all of us what can be done.

Did you record (save) the increases in HP with the spacers out ? It would be interesting.
Let us know.
I've got the sheets I'll have to look again. I remember it was not a huge amount but is was the opposite of what it should be. Dyno man knows if the cloverleaf was removed the results would be different.

Do you think it's because with the spacer it leaves a shelf exposed causing some turbulence?

That is my guess. Dyno guy knows if those were ground off the spacer would help.
Actually not having to run a spacer helps me for hood clearance. May be able to fit a 5" element in now.

Peak and average gains with set spacer

2"/ 1"HVH & 1" Open stacked 707.9 and 771.8 average. Peak 832

1" HVH 710.3 and 774.5 average. Peak 836.5

No spacer 712.1 and 776.3 average. Peak 837.6

Now we could of played all day and moved the #'s around but when all is said and done, the motor makes some serious power.

No kidding about serious power Wookie. Your dyno results have moved my Super Victor and AED 1050 set up way up on my priority list!

My biggest problem now is finding time and ambition to swap out the 440. Got a fridge full of cold ones for volunteers.

Nice video & thanks for the #'s & print out results
congrats  she should haul ***

Believe it or not that cloverleaf Indy Manifold worked better without the spacer than with. Tried 2" then 1" then none. Kept making more power which is opposite logic.
But last year I found that at the track too. With spacer I lost a tenth and a half and 3 MPH. Took it out and jumped right back up.

Just curious, is that what happened on the dyno?

That's a bad dude, probably testing the blocks abilities for sure. Did you add any hard block? Guessing aluminum caps and girdle?

Yes. Also last year when I ran that Manifold in the car I lost a 1/10th and 3 MPH when spacer was in. Dyno #'s show the same thing. That being said last year I was limited for hood clearance so it could also be an air flow issue. This year I have a new hood. No flow issues.

Yes. Many say I have a ticking time bomb on my hands.
The block is the weak point for sure.

All you can do at this point is drop it in, arm the blue bottle, pull the pin and hang on!! Nothing like a nine second pass riding a big pig! Lol

Well I'm all smiles. Should make Barney move!
Here are the details I'll share. The rest are my secret
400 block 4.25 stroke. 13.5-1 CR. Indy EZ-1 heads that flow just under 370 @.700. Solid roller cam with #'s I'll keep to myself. Indy single plane with an AED 1050 Dominator. TTI 2 1/8 step headers. Also have a vac pump setup. It should be fun!!

Hey Wookie, with your 1050 AED, did you have to change up much from out of the box to work that well? I'll be bolting on mine but on a Super Victor, wondering how much tuning afterwards.

Got your PM. LOL when I seen the email address I laughed. Never realized how close we were to each other.

Probably 5 hours away but still considered close up in this end of the country! I've been through your town a number of times and never seem to get out of there without spending some money.. You must be itching to get that 511 into your car, that sure is making some big power. A buddy of mine was at the same track as you last weekend and lost a couple of pistons. Went 9.06 with 20Lbs of boost and then it was over.. Thanks again for the AED card info!
