Where’s “ghost rider “? Kinda looking like a bad winter coming. Don’t like the cold anymore…

I live on the same parallel on the west. Woke up to this in the morning. Not unusual but i'm not ready for that crap.

About 20+ mile upcountry hwy 108, it snowed last night
nothing much just a dusting,
I thought it was 'sort of too warm' here for snow
but at 8k-9k ft elevations it gets colder way quicker

our Oaks are dropping acorns like crazy, like several hundred daily each
nucken' futs, black & white oaks
But it's mostly conifers' here, pines, ponderosa & sugar or cedar

I see 'folklore' "allegedly" saying/claiming it should be a wet/cold winter
& other say it's just a Mast Year 2 - every 5 or so years does it
IMHFO this is the worst I've ever seen the acorns fall,
nothing like this in almost 20 years & it's not even really cold yet,
& our leaves are all still green, not dropping leaves even "yet"

We just came back from the Adirondacks there was snow on the higher peaks.
But it's not unheard of at this time in the fall.

Snowed here today, we are 600 foot elevation. Had very strong wind blowing snow and rain horizontally. I prefer minus thirty to this, at least that’s dry. Walked the dog in it, she could care less but I was cold and wet. Don’t think this will stay but we always have keeper snow by Halloween, and that’s not far away.

Way down south in desert
country.
Forcast low 40's at night,
low 70's for highs. First
freeze expected in mid
November. 4200 ft elevation.
Humidity averages 35%.
Big snow storms here, but
they don't occur that often.

Snow on the eastern edge of the Sierras here yesterday and last night. 20s for a freeze warning and frost on the roofs as well. Very cold at 6:30 this morning. Nice sunny day today and in the low to mid 50s...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

It's supposed to storm this weekend here. It hasn't rained in forever. They say 3' of snow in SW Colorado.

Heavy rain here, now. 2" in the rain gauge in less than
an hour. Under a flash flood warning.

Hey Don is this Buttermilk Falls? My wife and I used to go up there once/twice a year. Where we stayed was a multi-million dollar "Camp" as they call them up there in Long Lake which was part of the Whitney estate at one point. 12 mile long drive-way straight back into the woods.

We have snow in flagstaff yesterday but here we had a good rain all day
I’m done with the bad winters of Chicago !

Oh yeah, can't complain about the view. The price you have to pay is 7 months of winter. Gives you plenty of staring time!

My first 7 years of life were spent in Canada, I get the winter thing. You have to take some, to get some. You're blessed!!

My sister in law just moved to Vermont last year. She bought 57 acres with a nice house, barn and a pond. Here is her view from the house.
