Rather than gank all my photographer friends' pictures, here's the direct link to them:

The GTX did fine on the two hour each way trip down there. I didn't run her harder than about 65mph with the 3.55's and she managed to eat an indicated $50 of gas there and back.
It was hot as heck as always (90+F) and she really cooked us in the car on the way back, what with the Hedmans and 3" duals making for quite the easy-bake oven inside the car.
A couple pics of her today:
Bless my poor wife. She hung in there with me all day and paid the roasted price for it.
She knew, though....
This trip today was something I and the car both HAD to do; it was the culmination of everything the GTX and myself have been through to get to this point - me with all the medical/cancer stuff and the GTX with, well, everything involved in rising from her former grave in a farmers' field in Virginia almost 8 years ago.
I'm going back in this coming July 5th Thursday for removal of my thyroid this time, the result of still more tumor/nodules being discovered, so it was important to me to make this drive.
I don't expect anyone else to understand that, but it was important to me.
Check out the link. This is a great show, lots of nice rides and famously friendly Tennessee folks in attendance.
I felt at peace and at home amongst them even though I don't know most of them.
It was a good day.
It'll do.
