I may look into having my heads ported sometime in the future and am interested in what YOU have spent. My heads are totally box stock and have about 4000 miles on them.
Thanks

Seems to me that in a state as large as CALIFORNIA, someone here would port heads...

I have had a few sets of Eddy heads ported by Hughes Engines, they really know their way around the Chrysler stuff that some Chevy or Ford shops might not know. I have always been very pleased with the results.

Jim aka IQ52 does them he's just in Idaho. $$$ just depends on what you want done, gasket match, mild port, race port or there's the option of sending them for cnc porting.

I picked up a pair of Heads (#452) from someone for free.
HE paid Gerry Goodale from S.M.S (Specialized Motor Service, Riverside CA) $2,000 for the port job.
PS: These Heads are now on My Max Wedge 440.

Check out the guys at "Valley Head Service" 818-993-7000

"First established in 1965, our humble beginning started by porting cylinder heads for local racers in the old family barn. And while cylinder heads still are the core of our business, we have one of the most complete engine shops in Southern California. Simply put, we fix the broken, resurrect the old, make the new better, and make the fast go faster. Our first notable customer was Carroll Shelby when we agreed to develop the top half of his famed race winning cars back in the 1960’s. Others names would follow: Mickey Thompson, Don Pruhdomme, Holman/Moody, Smokey Yunick, Jim Hall, Warren Johnson, George Fulmer, and “Fast” Jack Beckman. Over the years we have also developed products that bring better performance to modern engines that include our own dry sump oil pumps and our Thunder Power 4-valve cylinder heads for big block Chevys"

These guys are GOOD
Professional and know what they are doing.
You would want to describe to them what your purpose for the engine/car is:
1. Stage 1
2. Stage 2
3. Stage 3 (full Race)
