I just purchased a 66 Charger for my wife. Silver with red interior, 383 4BBl with PS and factory AC, console auto. The PO had put in an electric fuel pump under the hood and it looked ugly, so figured I'd remove it and attack the insufficient fuel delivery problem, which I figured was caused by a fuel pump rod that was too short. AS you can see from the pic, that was the problem! Should be good to go now...

Wow! That alot of difference. Have you run it yet with the New rod?

I have not, also replacing the electronic ignition system, as the PO put the ECU under the blower motor! And it failed, so just replacing the entire thing with a Proform Chrysler electronic ignition set up. Should have it fired up by the weekend!

Just make sure that the rod is the CORRECT (stock) length before you fire it up.

it is, I measured it before installation....

Thanks,

Mark

My car had a fuel cell and pump in the trunk when I got it. After about a year I put a tank and mechanical pump in. Then I could hear the radio some. I used a Holley high volume mechanical.
