I just had a new exhaust built for my 63 330 Dodge. The fuel pump is mounted on the "frame rail" and is way too close to the new muffler. The system was built this way to keep the exhaust up and out of sight and it works well.

Anyone have photos of the bracket configuration to mount the electric pump at the rear of the car to get it away from the heat of the exhaust

Thanks in advance
Jack

why not build an insulated baffle to put between them. Easier than re-doing fuel system.

I don't have exhaust near the pump but it's just mounted to aluminum plate on frame with some rubber isolaters.

Just something to keep in mind. Mounting depends on the pump you have. A lot of pumps are pusher pumps. Those manufacturers recommend you mount the pump close to the tank and below the sump/tank outlet. It's not that you can't mount those style pumps elsewhere but the short period of time they run dry at startup will affect the pumps longevity.
I would also recommend the installation of a shut-off valve between the sump/tank and the filter & pump. You'll be glad you did when it comes time to clean your filter or worse, change the pump.

According to Magnafuel and Product Engineering a electric fuel pump should never be mounted under a car. Moisture, rain, burnouts eat up the life of a fuel pump. They all recommend to mount inside the trunk. I earned the hard way many years ago.
