electronic ignition

Hi guys

I have been wanting to convert my ploy 318 to electronic ignition complete with new distributor. I have been looking around and only see listings for the later LA engines. Is there a reasons for this? Are the polys and LAs have different distributors and cams or something? I wouldnt think so. I know a lot of the parts are interchangeable with the later engines. Except the heads etc. So basicly I just want to know if the later LA electronic conversation kits with distributors will fit the earlier ploys?

The Poly will convert to the later LA Mopar Performance Distributor and ignition, I had it done and it's fairly simple. There's some rewiring to be done, this page explains it. You will need to get a coil like the MSD Blaster or equivalent. I eventually replaced my Mopar Perf Dist with an MSD Billet Dist using the 6AL box and I like that better, but my Poly is slightly tweaked and I needed a bit more. I still have all of my old stuff.
