has anyone done the 62-65 cable shift to later model input shaft conversion described in mopar muscle mag.? ihave attempted this and had nothing but problems. i swapped input shaft/rear clutch retainer, stator support, and front clutch drum from a 71 727a in order to use a torque converter i already had. seals are good, clutches are new-correct clearances. problem is tranny will not upshift from 2 to 3 unless i push shifter into neut. then back to drive . also kickdown runaway. i"m at the end of my knowledge. help!!!

I "assume" you have the throtthe pressure linkage in place and adjusted correctly.

yes. trans. worked great before this swap.it was also rebuilt before the swap.engine was down for freshening, when i noticed bad converter.(reason for the swap)
