I am getting close to installing engine and I'm hung up on what color to paint it. I know it would be turquoise from factory but I'm not worried about what it was as much as how it looks. I dont think think the turquoise would look as good with the light blue engine bay body color as red or even orange. I am also considering black as well. So y'all chime in an tell me what you think. I just looking for the best color combo. I plan on black mopar performance valve covers as well.

Thanks....

Just another option. A friend had an absolutely beautiful '55 Chevy show car. The 502 was painted the same "candy brandywine" as the car. Of course it had a wild amount of chrome also. Always took first place and he actually drove it on occassion.
FWIW, I personally like the factory color on a stock or semi-stock looking car.

This 383 is painted the "old" factory turquoise color and its going into a Turquoise car.

Since it sounds like you will never let this one get away again, do whatever floats your boat. I personally like the factory correct color and even paint the aftermarket intake with it.

Anything but black.
Black bites. Shows every spec of dust and dirt, and look cheap.

my coronet is the CC1 light blue, perhaps the same color as your car. i went with street hemi orange rather than a factory turqoise.

Maybe on the outside, but not on the motor. A former boss of mine did his college theory on the radiation of heat based on color. This has been found to be true elsewhere. But the point is that an object painted black will actually radiate heat far better than a bare metal, or light-colored object. So maybe the General has been onto something for the last 15 years or so! For a motor built for business, instead of show, I would paint it black!

Hey is your engine bay painted with bc/cc or is it single stage? I cant decide which way I want to go once I get started.

all the cc1 on the car was base coat/ clear coat and that includes the trunk and engine bay.
