So the poly is coming out soon and the RB will take its place. What do you guys do to clean up the engine bay? I plan to rewire & reroute but I'm not sure how you guys get this area so clean & shiny! Any tips would be great!

Pressure wash, degrease, sand, sand, sand. Primer. Paint Body Color. Mopar guys hate black engine compartments. Looks Chevy.

Stripping is much faster and less tedious than sanding it down. Blasting is another option, but you will have to contend with the media getting everywhere and trying to get it out.

If you mean clean as in cleaning the clutter up and smoothing it all out then here's what I did. Re route all headlight wiring threw conduit under the fender, moved all engine compartment wiring to where it comes out right behing the intake (hidden), welded all unused holes shut (balkhead connector, screws, etc), weld shock towers solid and smooth out, blah, blah. I agree that stripping it down to bare metal is the best route and be prepared to spend alot of time in there sanding.

Being a woodworker, I'm no stranger to sanding. I guess blasting would be the best way to deal with surface rust?
Does the bare metal have to be treated before priming and painting?

747, what do you mean weld the shock towers solid and smooth out? Any pics?

uh.. sand blast. Wire wheel. Elbow grease. Filler. Move what u can to behind the firewall or lower left and right corners with heat shielding.. Fab a channel under the top surface of the inner fender panel to run hoses and wires through. Fab a panel that covers most of the stuff u don't want seen to run from front to back. Use yer imagination.
