engine for my Durango..... scratch that, Dakota resurrection instead

well, I have a dilemma......... I bought it, and it might be too nice; I think I have to fix it and drive it, 1 owner, mostly garaged, zero rust on the body......I have options, I'll assess things a bit more when I get it home........ starts right up, zero noises, no check engine light, good tires.......... frame horns are pretty tore up...... smells like leather!

2600, clean title...... I wish it was green :D

I've gotten to know these trucks working on the Durango; and I've been eyeing up '01, '02 Dakotas........ I hope this isn't some sort of sickness

now I have 2 rust free vehicles with a ton of interchangeable parts, and a fresh engine and a pick up bed........... with a spiffy tonneau cover! :D

That truck looks to be in very nice shape. Nothing says geezer like a club cab Dakota with a hard tonneau cover! You'll fit right in at the Cracker Barrel.
Fix it and drive it, good buy!

Looks like a good buy - some work needed for the front end but after that it looks super clean and very usable

if he had listed it in cars/trucks for sale, instead of parts for sale; someone would have snatched it up

Yeah: That looks more like a project than a parts vehicle.

Man, you can't beat that with a stick

Wish mine was that rust free when I first bought it. I needle scaled the whole frame and painted it just to help it last. The rear fender flairs have a couple of small bubbles starting under them, rockers doing the same. Had to replace one rear spring hanger because of rust. Had to replace front cab mounts. The floor was okay thankfully. These are the main rust areas on these.

When you buy these Dodges new it would be so easy to remove the rear taillights and spray a rust preventive over the wheel wells. There's plugs all along the back side of the rockers to be able to spray into. There's no reason these should have rusted if precautions were taken when new.

Here's where you can find the build sheet for your truck. Just type in the vin.
FCA RAM

Why did he sell it Mark? Did you ask or gave him the money and ran with it?

he's a car guy, has a mini junk yard next to his house....... not everyone sees the value in fixing a 23 year old truck with 174K and frame damage; and after typing that out, I kinda see why........ it's already fixed in my head, and all the parts are 3 miles away at my local "go to" yard........

I have my old Durango radiator that leaks a bit, but good enough to install to get running and maybe take it down the road....... I want to do that before committing to anything stupid

what's the difference between a club cab, crew cab ,and quad cab?
