Hi all, I just installed a dual plane Intake and now the 440 hesitates badly when I hit the gas. Will I need to adjust the carb now? Btw it's a carter.
No it seems the same as before. The carb gasket didn't seem like it was in great shape I will pick up a new one to see if that helps.
Could that be it?
First thought, maybe it's a carter/edelbrock thing. But I had to double gasket at the carb base, otherwise it ran like crapola. You might want to do the same around the base and the spacer.
Next step if that doesn't solve it is the valley tray and how you prepped it. I rtv'd all the way around both side
and in-between the the ports, rails and ends.
If still together can test for vac leaks via a little spray of carb cleaner or any thing simliar toward suspected area. Idle will change if a leak is present
Update, so I took the car for another ride and after about 20 min it ran fine with no hesitation.
I touched the carb and it is just warm. Is it because the new intake has the exhaust crossover blocked that could be the issue? If so is there a solution?
