My 62 Dart -- 440 Engine has a engine oil cooler. -- The radiator part is difficult to remove, without tearing a whole bunch of stuff apart, but I can remove the part that the oil filter is attached to, and eliminate the oil flow to the cooler. -- I can't make up My mind whether to do this or not. -- My feeling is that, for a Street Car, the oil cooler is overkill, and is not needed . -- Comments ?

I’ve run many years with an oil cooler on the street. Why not? Oil can cool and engine just like antifreeze

I agree, besides an oil cooler on anything on the street, especially a 62 Dart, is rather unique, but then I'm slightly biased.
I'd really be interested to hear the back story of how and why it got one in the first place.

You don't really need an oil cooler unless you are racing (not drag racing) or towing/hauling heavy loads. My race car will run 180 on the coolant all day long but oil temps get high without a direct oil cooler.

...... But I cannot fathom a reason why you want to stop it from functioning yet leave it in place?!

I don't know -- bought it that way.
