Engine Removal on 67 Coronet

That looks like the 318 in my 69 Sport Satellite convert. Could yours be a 273?

Well, after further research it is inconclusive if this engine is original to the car or not. I wish it was but certainly does not change my love for the coronet. I will operate under the assumption that it is most likely not the original engine and may be from a later year as some of you noted. Having said that, yes the red is the correct engine color if this was the original '67 318 engine. More of an indication that it may be a later year engine. I really feel like the turquoise color was original to this engine block and really liked it when I first pressure washed it. It seems like it fits the color of the interior of the car more than a blue would. If I was 100% sure it was the original engine I would go back to the original blue to maintain the originality. Therefore i will move forward with the turquoise blue and will post more images when I finish, hopefully it turns out to be the correct choice. Oh, and by the way I checked the block and it does have the 318 numbers stamped.

Also someone gave me some pointers on the electrical connectors, thank you. I actually rebuilt the entire wire harness from bulkhead to the engine bay several weeks ago. I purchased the correct gauge and color wires as well as some butt connectors with built in heat shrinks. In doing so, I also did the ammeter bypass and added a 10 gauge wire for the alternator with fusible links. I was very satisfied as it looked very professional once I rewrapped it all with Tessa tape.

Thanks again everyone.

if there is a partial VIN on the pan rail, it is a later model engine.

67 had no VIN on the engine. That started in mid year 68.

there should also be a casting date on the block
