engine shuts down

my 318 developed this problem over the weekend. it starts and runs but @ every 20 seconds it shuts off for a split second and stays running. it an idle it shuts down. I replaced the cap & rotor and have good spark. does anyone have an answer? thanks

Need more info. Carefully clean the bulkhead connector for good measure if you have one.

If it just dies kinda like you turned off the ignition switch then I would look at the electrical part of this equation. Check all the connections and all the crimped terminals. I once had this problem on an old vehicle and it turned out to be the + wire at the coil was broken at the terminal that went on the coil but it was hard to tell because most of the insulation on the wire was still intact.
