Engine stalls after only when car is warm

It is not necessarily the box - sounds like the problem is more to do with the power to the box.

Cut the choke wire. Use it to wire the choke open lol

Finally, I got something to change. When the car is warmed up and wants to die, I touched 12 volts from the battery to the coil + and it immediately idled back up. I removed the wire and after about 10 seconds it tried to die again. I touched 12 volts and it idled back up. Ignition box confirmed?

You need around 9v going to the coil, 4 is too low. Could be ballast resistor. Disable the choke and check voltages to and from the ECU.

1967 cars originally had points ign. So elec ign has been added. Check the wiring & that correct ballast resistor have been used. The bal res that connects to the coil +ve should be what MSD recommends for THAT coil. It may be different than the OEM 0.5 ohm res. If there is no bal res, then that is a problem.....

The coil could be bad. I have experienced my car dying once the coil gets warm, might explain why when 12 volts is applied it recovers. Just a thought.

Coil is brand new. Voltage to the ignition box is almost 14 when running, same with one side of ballast resistor. Resistor reads about 1.5 cold, 2.5 when warmed up to point of shutting off. Swapping box and resistor today

Is that a MSD Blaster 2 ign coil? If so, that has a 0.7 ohm primary winding which is much too low for the Chrys ECU. The Chrys coils had ~1.5 ohm pri res plus a 0.5 ohm res in series to give ~2.0 ohm. That ECU may have some internal device that detects excessive current &/or heat & opens the cct to protect the ECU. Operates again once it has cooled down. If you have a factory coil, try that.

I replaced the ignition module and resistor, which both looked brand new. The car idled for 20 min with no issues. I was able to adjust the idle down and putting the car in gear only dropped the idle slightly and it never stalled. Hopefully i can try it on the road today, but so far it seems good.
