I haven’t seen this but it makes sense. Lithium fires are no joke & water makes the fire worse

A little west of my neck of the woods, the large "offshore" population has made EV's, especially the Tesla variants, hot sellers. You literally see them everywhere. With that has come numerous fires, which they have no choice but to let it burn to the ground since it won't go out. Saw a video of a guy in North Vancouver that had to smash the drivers window to escape when it randomly caught fire at a stop light and he was trapped as there was no power to release the door locks.

I think this is a smart move by that track. Every point they make is accurate. But they forgot to add how incredibly boring they are to watch race.

Thank god they have common sense still. Those fires are hotter than a fuel fire and cause noxious gases. Far more dangerous than a fuel cell. At least you can put a fuel fire out in most cases.

This is my local track. There wasn't many EVs at the Test & Tunes anyway, maybe 1 or 2 out of 80-100 cars, no great loss.

I did that. Borrowed a buddies model S when they first came out. I made 1 run. That car was stupid fast. I lost the time slip but low 11’s I think. Then I parked it away from everyone. Slinked back to it and left later.

The little girl doing the wheelie was frick'n hilarious..there is a proud Dad out there somewhere!

Seems like an over reaction. Drag racing is a risky deal no matter. I look at the junk that is allowed to run now, and we’re worried about a Tesla? After all the stuff I’ve seen in the last year at the track, staging next to an EV would not be anywhere on my list of things to worry about. I cannot say the same thing for 25% of the ICE cars I stage with.

I autocross regularly and the Tesla plaid with a skilled driver tends to dominate, even over Porsche gt4's. I suspect this drag strip rule is designed to protect the ICE cars feelings not for safety. Even a ridiculous looking cybertruck is fast on a track. Progress never sleeps...but I still enjoy my old cars.

Yeah, most of us are racing for fun, with a big dose of nostalgia. Getting put on the trailer by anything sucks, but a soulless godless electric vehicle has gotta really hurt.

A guy at our track won street legal class this year.. and they're mopar guys!!

I don't care even if they are fast, I have no interests in them at all...

Let them have their own league & events

screw EVs

& most their owners are stuck up too
