Looking to get raised white letter tires to replace my 47 year old tires. After 51 years the bodywork and paint are done and I am getting close to installing the engine and trans which is the last things to do. No way am I going near the road with these tires. The tread width of my G60-14 is 8 1/2" and the tire is 25" in diameter. 225/60 B.F. T/A radials, according to their website, are 9" thread width and 24.4" in diameter which is fine. My F70-14 are 7", and the tire is 26" in diameter. their 205/70 B.F. T/A radials, according to their website, are 8.2" tread width and 25.4" (their taller tires are even wider). I don't have power steering, not sure I want 8" up front. On Cooper's website Cobra GT's only show the diameter of the tire and the rim width. I can't find anyone with Coopers on display to measure the tread, they will order them but because they don't stock them they won't take them back. The Cooper Cobra GT 215/70's are 25.75" in diameter, the 235/60's are 25". Does anyone have these tires and can tell me what the tread width is? Check out the price of my tires, no mounting or balancing. Cornell was pep Boys house brand tires, they still look good 47 years later as do the Cragar S/S's I bought in 1974 for my 1968 Road Runner, 383, 4-speed.
