I have recently come into a factory 440 square bore intake with a 1968 cast date, casting number 2806178. Is there any value in this intake to the restoration crowd, is it worth me hanging onto to try and sell, or should it go into my scrap pile? Casting date is 08 15 68. I would assume that this is correct for a early to mid build 69?

Just wondering...I dont have the luxury of space to keep things around.....

I am an a body guy (normally I hang out at fabo) and will likely never have a factory 440 a body to use it on.

I'd say someone might be looking for that date code, or even the correct looking intake, so it would be a shame to scrap it. But finding that person might take a really long time. Stick it on fleabay for cheap just to get rid of it. Shipping cost might be all it's worth though.

Typically, the 68 intakes have the choke heat riser area flush and together with the carb mounting flange where the 69's are below and separate. If the 69 choke design was some sort of an improvement in terms of emissions and drivability then likely the 68 parts never made it on 69's. But I'm only guessing here.
