Thanks Roger!

There will be a 512 Stroker going in...

It's not any kind of crate motor. I will be using the 440 that came with the car for the build. Right now i'm still saving a bit before I go buying the forged rotating assembly and the Eddy Aluminum heads for it... I already have the machine shop in the loop for the boil, boring, milling, cam rings, frost plugs, block knotch, balancing and installing ARP studs for the mains. I'll do the assembly, then bring it back over for the dyno..

440source rotator??
Going to use Performer RPM's or go right to the Victors?

WTF! Does everyone got a 512 now? Just watched a 512 on youtube. Is it only me left with a 383? Not to mention when Sven will rumble down my street with his Hemi...
:sad11:

Not everybody has a 512, I'm only running a 440!

Actually getting my Stroker kit from Muscle Motors Gpuller...I've had pretty good luck with them in the past. I'll be going with the Eddy Performer RPM's..84CC. Not going crazy nutz with roller/adjustable everything. Just looking to get in that 575-625 HP Range

Kind of a crappy night on the bird tonight. Had a buddy help me toss the hood on. In the process I had one of the upper/rear hinge bolt snap off inside the welded on square nut on the inner fender..Sucks...Wasn't even wrenching on it that hard at all. Time for the easy out or drill out.

I also noticed that the drivers side hinge is junk. The arm that extends out under the spring has a loose joint and is pulled in towards the engine bay when the hood is up. Impossible to tell when I was cleaning them all up. Ahh well, life goes on...

A pic with the hood on......

Thanks Ron and thanks for that Comp Cams calc. I must have spent 2 hours going through with all kinds of different senario's. Real Good stuff!

What did you use for the joint between the roof skin and the 1/4s?

Robert.

Glad it helped Will, or might help! I was thinking maybe you could surpass the HP/TQ you are looking for.

Actually having a old school hot rod guy lead it in once I move to the body shop Robert. She'll be just like the factory. Best part is, all it is costing me is the price of the lead, a carton of smokes and a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon. LOL

Thanks again Ron..Pretty sure I got my cam narrowed down beween two different grind's.

Kinda boring stuff going on right now...Getting her prepped so I can march forward with the body work once I get her trailered to the body shop.

Ground flush the last remaining spot welds in the rear wheel house lips, botton of the rockers and quarter to extension lips. Skimmed over with some Rage, brought back down with some 100G then 220G and primed.

Also got the old headliner out. Not too bad underneath suprisingly. Pretty clean yet. Only the front section had the remainders of a mouse house in it. Tomorrow i'll be wire wheeling to shiny metal and coating with some rust Bullet.

Hey Prop, how long did those hinges take to do? I just did a set a few months ago, each one took about 3 minutes to completely clean inside/outside etc. No wire brushing on this end! haha. Looks good!!!

30 minutes in the booth blaster, another 10 with the wire wheel (Per Hinge!!!!!) If I would have known it would take so long I would have just wheeled out the 100lb blaster.
The Aluminum oxide mix in my cabinet blaster was not the golden ticket with these puppies.

The worst part is I also took the time to prep and then epoxy coat. After that I scuffed them up with 400 and sprayed with OMNI single stage. All said and done, mounted them, mounted the hood and then discovered the drivers side is shot. One of the pins in the joints is wore out... Problem is these things are almost impossible to rotate when not attached to anything..I learned my lesson. The replacement I mounted to the car and then mounted to a 2' hunk of square tubing so I could cycle it and see if was faulty or not

Just keep at it Prop, a busted hinge is peanuts for a man like you.

LOL! Thanks Robert. It's my own damn fault for assuming they were good. I should have figured they were shot just like almost everthing else on this car. Ah well....hindsight is 20/20!

Have a good one and have fun on the roadrunner rebuild. Hopefully you can find some time for your Dodge soon enough.

man i know that feeling. as far as how mine is coming haven't really had much time or money to work on her but i did buy my third new rear main seal set, this time an expensive one, im going to see if i can get that in her sometime this week

Well..Hopefully third times a charm Jason. Thats got to be getting really old changing that out.

Well........Bit of an update fella's............

Yup!!!!! Roadrunner made its way to the body shop today. Quite a feeling pushing her in that trailer and walking back to an empty garage, especially since I spent soooooooooo many late nights and long days in the garage bringing her back from the dead.. Almost felt like I was loosing a pal.

Biggest problem is.......I don't know what the hell to do with myself!!! They'll be starting to work on the car next week with the transitions and skim coat. I'll be joining in the festivities when my work schedule allows. Crappy part is they're not open on the weekends. I guess the Coronet will be getting some needed attention here in the next several weeks.

I went through all 400 pictures of the work done so far and am wondering; (A) I must be a glutten for punishment. (B) I must be half Crazy. (C) When is the next time i'll be able to tear into some rotton metal....LOL. Thought I'd toss up some pic's of the road traveled thus far on ol' Skeletor..

Happy days boys...happy days

Obviously just a taste of whats been done over the past year....It's pretty neat to look back once in a while and see what you have done. Goes to show, a man puts his mind to something, he can accomplish anything. Also that hard work, does pay off!

I'll be loading pic's and starting the next chapter with all the blocking, skim, priming and paint shortly down the road............

Cheers! :icon_pidu:

Wow Will, Ive been watching your progress. Hard to believe all that work in a year. Are you sure you are married? LOL. Great work , something to be really proud of
