Im attempting to improve my handling on the Bee. Iv adding numerous parts to do this so far.But I was wondering if anyone has tried the longer pitman & idler arms. Ive noticed in some ads that you have to use the factory exhaust manifolds while others say you can use certain brands of headers. I dont plan on doing any road racin I just want to get the best feel out the improvements that Im making.

My 71 340 Cuda had the fast ratio (T/A steering) box and pitman but it had a regular idler on it. Don't know if it was original like that or if someone replaced it. Anyways, it had Hooker SuperComps on it but I don't recall it if would have made a difference with a different idler. Also, the regular idler didn't hamper the ackerman until you had the wheel 75% to one way or the other.....

Edit: I was told that a fast ratio idler was never installed from the factory....is this true?

Quick ratio pitman

cranky

From what I heard and read they where only available on the T/A's and some supposedly made it on some of the early production 71 E bodies. That was the fast ratio pitman arm because I have a T/A steering box.Not sure on the idler arm.

Im tryin to order 1 from Firm Feel. How the heck do you order from them? Wait on them 2 call you back. Maybe there is another site 2 order 1 at. Called PST and they said I cannot use headers with theirs. However Firm Feels site said I can use certain brands of headers. Cant see how they sell much if you cant order over the net.

I have these Fast ratio arms in the Charger. I also have the Firm Feel Stage 3 steering chuck. This combination is the closest thing to what a manual steering setup feels like. High effort but not difficult. the F/R arms reduce the steering wheel turns from 3 1/2 to 2 3/4 turns lock to lock. They are pricey, but they are great if you do like that type of feel in your steering.

Firm feel got back with me & parts are ordered.Hope I get what I payed for.It was a little pricey like explained above.
