I sold an engine to another member on here and he wanted it shipped to him. I call a couple places and was quoted about $750 from Iowa to Michigan. Then I remembered hearing on here a few times about Fastenal shipping. I call them and then did an online quote. They shipped it for $195. I crated the motor and dropped it off at the local Fastenal store and boom it was delivered on time and intact. There is one thing about them that kind of stinks, they have a west zone and an east zone. They will not ship from the west zone to the east zone or vice versa.

Yup they are great to work with. The engine in my Charger came from a member here in Vermont via Fastenal. Too bad they closed my local store, need to drive an hour to one now.

It is really odd how they really keep a low profile about the shipping. Even finding it on their website is hard. But the process for getting a quote and the rest of the procedure is extremely easy.

It used to be easier to find. There was talk about them cancelling the service altogether and during that they made it a lot more difficult to find on the website. It's a great service, hopefully they will continue it!

I've shipped several engines with them. Cheap, easy, reliable.

I used the local Fastenal to ship some bigger stuff,
seats, hood, a pallet of suspension parts, never a whole engine
but not for a long time now, probably 10 (?) years
They were 1/2 the price of UPS or FedEx at a min. for bigger stuff
or way, way less, than other trucking/shipping companies...
The Fastenal 'Retail Store' here, down in Sonora has shut down,
not enough traffic/business
someone told me they still have the shipping hub there,
I didn't see it thou, looks like it all closed up, sad really...

They had great bolts nuts washers, grade 5, 8 & even 12 or aircraft quality
in differing heads/ or coatings or anodized etc.
12 pt, Allen, reg six sided, cap-screws or various countersunk, torx head &
different shank or/or thread lengths etc.
drilled for safety wire etc. of any/or many materials, I bought a lot of stainless stuff
& nylocks with stainless outers, it's really sad to see them go...
I used them for hardware/nuts & bolts stuff a lot, on my cars trucks/Jeeps,
various other projects, if they didn't have it they'd order it for you...
