Fastest pass ever with the blue Plymouth

I think I need a bar before a manifold now. I think I'm becoming a believer in the sump. I wonder what super stock racer thinks

I think the DA was exceptional today. 265 feet. a lot better than 1800 yesterday.
I think you need a fuel cell and get rid of the dumbass gas tank deal. put in a product engineering fuel pump/filter combo with a matching regulator and do it right the 1st time.
do it once, you're knocking on the 10 second door.
But what do I know? I just sell fish :fish:

Hey Bob,
Maybe I missed it,,,, have you posted your complete setup?
This is my setup

Car is stock weight, full interior no weight savings at all. Add about 240lbs. for me. 3.55 gears(have 4.10s in the garage waiting.) I ran 20lbs. in the rears. Lunati hydro cam 231/[email protected]" .535/.550 lift +1.6 hughes roller rockers. So .570/587 adjusted. Stock converter. 727 trans reverse pattern manual valve body. MSD 6a ignition. Timing is 12*btdc and 37 total. Not tunable billet distributor from 440 source. Stock front torsion bars and shocks. Disconnected sway bar. ss rear springs and stock shocks. You are correct on tires. 275/60/15. No traction issues. No weight transfer either. I know I have a lot of work to do on it. I originally built this completely as a street car and got bored , so went racing. I felt the car was lazy on takeoff but you can really hear it in the video. I would like to be near 11.5 with this car. I don't want to put a cage in it. Eventually would like to build a dedicated track car. So that's the deal. I feel the 4.10s and a torque converter would really wake this up.

Oh yeah, Offenhauser 2x4 intake w/2 500 edelbrocks, 1-3/4" headman headers into 2-1/2" exhaust. Cutouts just ahead of the mufflers, so the exhaust actually runs through the x-pipe before it gets to the cutouts.

Thanks Ron

Thanks for the bibliography.

You forgot to memtion the new convertor!

Roll-bar time...LOL
congrats on the nice past

Are you going to put a bar in it or just try to keep it at 11.50 ? You could add some weight to the rear bumper. better traction, higher front tires! or a throttle stop. I ran a turbo bike in ET racing and I always liked having the MPH advantage vs's the same et. Made it easier racing the stripe! Good luck and keep us posted. Are you planning a tear down on the motor this winter?

I'll be adding a bar this winter. I will probably tear down the motor as well to have a look see. Needs gaskets anyway.

I see stroker in your future....

Maybe in my future, future. I am really enjoying squeezing whatever I can out of what I originally built for the street. I set a goal of 11.50 and didn't know that I could hit it. I ran through it!
New goal is a slip starting with 10.
Intake, carb, headers and lightening a bit. Oh yeah, a bar.

It will never end. You've been bit.
Dive into it and don't do things twice, it's too costly. Plus you'll be spending on 2 cars now.
