I'll take your word for it and you're in! I believe the story about your wife being upset. I'm surprised you're still alive!:D:eek:
That car is one GORGEOUS PHAT fat car! Should I ask why you sold it?

Several reasons. When I was searching for a Charger to build, I really wanted a 1968, and it had to be a 4-speed. After looking for a couple of years, I ended up settling with 2 1969's because I couldn't find a 68. I first bought a 383 4-speed car with the very rare AC option. Major project but was an extremely solid car from California. Then a month later I drug this 69 R/T home. Sat on them both for awhile before deciding to do the R/T basically because the resale value would be better. In hindsight, I wish I would have kept the other car instead of selling it to a guy in Germany. This car was parked in a machine shed on a farm for 31 years when I found it. It was a Michigan car all its life so had a bit of rust from salt, but not terrible. Sitting in the shed for so long made a perfect mouse hotel. I knew this at the time, but not the extent of the damage done. They built nests in every frame rail, rocker, and crossmember. Pissing in the nests caused all the metal to rust from the inside out. So the car turned into an AMD masterpiece. I did it right, but it still bothered me about all the replacement metal. Front valance, fenders, inner fenders, hood, inner and out rockers, rear quarters, outer wheel houses, rear frame rails, rear spring hangers, front floorplan, trunk pan, drops, dutchman panel and the piece under it, tailpanel, rear valance, A & C pillar repair, firewall patches.
Original color was F3 exterior, F8 interior, green vinyl top, and a black rump stripe. Not my favorite combo by any means, motor was not original anyway, so decided to change the color. After many sleepless nights and my wife's nudging, settled on black, black, black, and black. While she and everybody else drooled over the car, it just didn't do it for me. To me it seemed like everything just blended together in a big dark blob, hiding all the beautiful second generation body lines. And to top it off, within 15 minutes of wiping it down, it was dirty again. The deciding factor was when a guy in California offered me stupid money for the car. I didn't hesitate one second in selling and have not regretted it since. Just no reason to have that much money tied up into a car that you don't like, right?
There is a long build thread on the car here somewhere.

Mine when I got it - Florida car all its life, nearly-original paint (one repaint, I think late 70s/early 80s due to fade - its o-l-d single-stage and about 3 shades off from correct F4). It had all the shine of a pool table when I got it.:

Loaded up in FL to head home to MD:

And now, after countless rounds of buffing and polishing...no paint, just polishing.
