FBBO Benefit Auction for @moparedtn!

Is that some nail polish ??? or mabey my screen contrast is off a little.
Why, I oughta...

This is a distributor for a Mopar B engine. It is brand new, never run, although it's sat on the shelf a while. A little surface rust on the shaft but that will polish right off. This is the GM big cap HEI. It is plenty long enough that valve cover interference is not an issue. I like these because replacement parts are available anywhere. All GM stuff, including the in cap ignition coil. Only requires ONE 12v hot wire and THAT'S IT. I've had one of these in the 351M in my truck for almost six years and it runs perfect. I don't know what brand it is. Probably ProForm or Skip White. Winning bidder responsible for shipping costs.

Now, when "whatever" happens and "whenever" this thing ends, Somebody will need to shoot me a message, because I don't come here often anymore.

Good morning everyone. Hey, woke up so it's all gravy from there, right? :)
@CudaChick1968 Leanna, I am just so dang appreciative of you it ain't even funny...
so I'm gonna brag on you a little here.

We all have done business with others in this life and heck yeah, when you run across
someone who does things right and delivers quality beyond expectations, you want
to sing their praises to others so as to help them out.
I've done so with Leanna for years now wherever I've seen her online....
There's that "business friendliness" level of knowing such folks, which is great of course -
but when you actually start getting to know and see what such folks are like personally,
sometimes your impression of them can suffer.
Hey, it happens. Human beings, all that jazz, etc.

Well, since all this started (THANKS TO HER!), she actually had to beat me over the head
to do it! My foolish pride and years of building up a thick protective skin kept me from
being able to accept such kindness, on a level I have honestly rarely seen in this life...
without thinking "what's their angle here?"
I'm sorry, it's just a defense mechanism I guess. Folks have taken advantage of my good
nature too many times over the years, so my auto-response is one of protection.

Well, as you all know now (and many of you knew before!), I didn't need to worry.
At all.
Leanna has not only persisted, put in the hours and the work AND played amateur counselor
to me in insisting on doing this for me and mine, but turns out, she's damn good people, too.
I don't dare presume us to be friends - but if she likes, I'll be hers anytime.
Proudly so.
I'm so blessed she's done this and all of YOU have enthusiastically jumped in!
Overwhelming for a self-contained, prideful old survivor of an old goat to comprehend...
but I promise you, I AM working on it and I AM so incredibly grateful.

I hope she gets LOTS of new work as a result of the exposure here - and that's ok, too.
Y'all be safe and THANK YOU,
Ed

A couple more folks have decided to send me something through PayPal.
I am constantly shocked when that happens, doesn't get any less surprising every time...
It's too dang early in the morning to get all mushy, but heck I'm getting used to it.

Time to acknowledge (and publicly embarrass!) :) :
- @Kern Dog Greg. Received and greatly appreciated. Hope this doesn't affect your crusty rep
on here. :) THANK YOU!

- @Chargerjase Jase. I know what you had to go through to send this and it made it just fine.
Thank you for your efforts and your kind messages to me!

Finally, another great big THANK YOU to everyone participating in, donating, bidding on all these
really cool auction items. Pretty awesome what's happening here, aside from the cause!
God bless all and theirs,
Ed

Leanna, Thanks for doing this for Ed. You have always been such a Big asset to the Forum's. @CudaChick1968 I haven't been on this site too long, but have been on Abodies for a long time. @moparedtn Hang in there our Mopar Brother. Ed, check your PP. Wish I could have done more.

Amen on Leanna, sir!
gabby (2017_10_11 10_04_54 UTC).jpg

Yes sir, I received what you sent me and this presents my next opportunity to publicly embarrass a couple MORE folks who have sent me something thru PayPal. :)

- @r4sedan Larry - THANK YOU! You've done plenty already, sir. Such an encouraging
note you included as well and I am in your debt!

- @copper67sat Robert - Your message and gift arrived just fine through PP - and you
managed to get me all blubbering and such, so much so that I had to call my wife and
read it to her.
Some of you folks are simply blowing me away with kindness and your note stopped me
dead in my tracks. THANK YOU and your family so very much!

Ed

No issues Tom... if you wanna buy your own stuff and keep them go for it! I know they're hard to give up and possibly worth more than your $200 start bid and my $300 with clip bid. I figured with all the Bee owners here there'd be more action, but I guess nobody dresses up for Funerals and Weddings anymore.

Here is another item I would like to add. A wonderful Plymouth dealership Showroom hanging sign/ceiling dangler. It measures approximately 24” wide by 16” high. This is a heavier duty remake of the original design and is in New/Unused condition. On this one, Shipping is included within the United States or I will pay 1/2 the shipping cost internationally.

Well, oh well.....

Well thanks. I can't take credit for Fred's paint choice or bodywork; that was done before I bought the car,
although there's been a lot of fixing and body shop trips since then to get him looking a bit better.

Now, how long?
Oh Lord, what's it been - over 9 years ago now, I think? Must have been like 2011.
Sounds about right. Spent 2012 slowly gathering parts (the car looked ok but was a mechanical/electrical mess)
but the REAL work began when I got cancer for the 3rd time in 2013 and temporarily died for the 4th time during
that surgery....

The GTX became my post-surgical therapy, with me slowly making my way out to the garage after the wife left
for work each day. Yeah, I disobeyed doctors' orders...nothing new there. :)
Working on the car became a prime directive more than a fun hobby, as I was determined to spend my time
tying up all the loose ends in my life just "in case" something happened again.
That's how it went for some years after. Lots of screw ups, lots of progress, most of it documented right here
on FBBO for the world to see, whether they liked it or not. :)
You do a search for my member name on here, I'm littered all over the joint....
All thanks to all these fine folks right here on FBBO along the way, too. TONS of help has been given (some of
it even in person by other members!) and lots of encouragement (and chastising) when needed, too!

Fred the GTX was "officially" announced to be a fully functional "CAR" again last year finally.
I lived long enough to see it through, along with all the house/property stuff needing doing and all that.
Then all hell broke loose and it wasn't medical this time... been a rough ride ever since.
That's all right - I've seen worse and kicked its' ***.
If you said where the name came from, I missed it.....

I thought there be more action also. I was more having fun with “willing to be outbid” part...

Bidding got quite today!
I was hoping to come on here and see some huge bids !

Up for the auction are a set of 1966/1967 Charger tail light housings. In good condition with all posts and the center tab in good shape. I decided, as everyone knows, to go with the '66 T Bird taillights instead.

I will pay the shipping CONUS.
Good Luck Ed. Ghost.
