FBO ignition system, 6 bbl carbs, and constant manifold vacuum

And a little tip on the Quick Fuel plates....they come with 0.039" (or 0.037") idle fuel bleeds (which are screw in & I think are correct for the back of a 3310 750 vac. secondary carb)....anyway, 0.029" are correct for six packs & Quick Fuel sells them cheap if you call them (not listed on website). They take a 0.050" allen wrench and sometimes they're a PIA to remove/replace. On my 2 Quick Fuel plates, 3 of 4 came out easily, but for the 4th one, I had to jam a small flathead screwdriver into the allen head plug & heat the plate with a propane torch to get it out. If you order from Quick Fuel direct, maybe they can put 0.029" 's in for you at their end?

Thanks a LOT 62MAX ! You too Purple Beeper. Bob K. (Mr. 6 pack) said the same re: Quick Fuel.

I'm not sure about the billet plate but they will give you whatever you want with the cast.As for a billet plate,I really see no reason if you can get cast.

Here is "special outboard carb idle screw adjuster 606127a" (lol) aka vacuum tubing for Mopar distributor vacuum can with a mini flat blade bit inserted. The red tape was to help visually see the amount of turns, but the flat parts of the bit is a better incremental guide. I also used a flashlight and a little 90° hook pick tool to guide it into place.

Interesting Max.... I know you said you had a clearance issue with the billet plates anyway. Mine cleared, but I guarantee it was really close (I just watched/probed float through fuel level sight plug). If you can get cast Quick Fuel plates, with idle feed restrictors of your choice, "maybe" jets too, and definitely clear the floats..... and probably cheaper.....I'd go cast all day long. There's nothing better about the billet plates. I mean they're "pretty", but nobody can see them anyway, so who cares? I just happened to get billets, Max62 & several others helped, I may have gotten lucky with float clearance.....but they're working. I could have gotten the same result if I could have found a stock-style "34" metering plate for the front carburetor. I only put the QF's on because I couldn't find a "34".

Could have helped with plates.

What prompted this round of carbs tweaking was the new FBO ignition system and I knew my idle was too rich...made my eyes water there were so many gas fumes. The center carb idle mixture screws all the way closed making the rpms increase and the motor smooth out pointed to an obvious problem that the outboard carbs needed to be leaned out. Big improvements so far, probably going to "dick around" (lol) with them a bit more, but I am really close IMO to 6 bbl idle nirvana. I will install the jetable aftermarket metering plates in the outboard carbs next.

If your eyes were burning you were too lean .
Get an a/f tool if you are serious about getting these to run right without guessing ..
And im not too keen on FBO methods
If Chrysler wanted unported signal to the dizzy , they would have done it that way.
