Federal or Saginaw ps pump?

After much looking I believe the ps leak is the o-ring between the pump body and reservoir. Sounds like a pretty common point of failure.
It’s a 66 Hemi Satellite. I’m not sure the best way to ID which of the different pumps this one has so I get the right kit. I just can’t get a clear enough line of sight to see the back of the reservoir. Too many kits out there to guess the wrong one.

Saw this pic on a separate old post but still be sure. Thanks for ideas

It is most likely a TRW (Thompson) pump. If the back strap of the mounting bracket is long, with 2 bolts, it is TRW. Federal has shorter back strap, with only 1 bolt. The new O-rings are made so that they will swell in contact with fluid, promising a better seal. These old pumps were made to use ATF as fluid. Over the past summer, I gained a LOT of experience with P.S. pumps.
 
Factory used a TRW pump in 1966..

Don't use ATF. Use straight Power steering fluid that does not have stop leak.
Your results will be much better,

The factory said to use type A trans fluid which is not available these days.
 
Trw in 66 has 5/8" return line. Power steering pressure hose, probably impossible to find. Have one made?

had to custom make one for my 88 D100 with the 383, had to find a line close enough compatible shape to reach/work and screw into the gear box, saved the old fitting from the PS pump side of the old line, cut and re-flare the line and use the old fitting, easy peasy, hardest part was taking the old line to the parts store and have them look up a couple dozen lines to get one close to the right bends and length of line.
 
Look at the center of the shaft. It it has a hex hole its a large TRW. If its flat its the small TRW(thompson)
The Lukas power steering oil is pretty thick. It does work in some cases for slow leaks.

I had seen ref to large v small here earlier. But I’ve checked 3 sites and can’t find where they make any distinction.
On pg 19-24/25 fsm says the “1.2 can is used exclusively on Valiant, Barracuda, Belvedere, and Satellite models”. Goes on to say either size can be used on Fury?
Does that help resolved size? I still don’t know what TRW parts are the right ones. Ugh.

Looks like large? Is that the 1.2 qt. then? Edelman 7898.
What does it mean the large one doesn’t have internal threads to reinstall the pulley?

Is it smooth or does it have a hex shaped hole in the center.
This is a big trw pump with the hex shaft.

Thanks. The pictures help. The end of the shaft has a hole in the middle. It’s not smooth across the front.
The picture you posted with the hex shaft looks like the can on mine. The hose that feeds into the nipple on top of the reservoir just to the right of the fill cap is same as mine.
That nipple on the small size is in a different location.
So it definitely looks the large.
 
What does it mean ‘the large one doesn’t have internal threads to reinstall the pulley’? If I would have to replace the shaft seal is that possible on the large TRW?
 
A federal is threaded in the center. So that reference is not about a TRW. It takes a puller to get the pulley off a large TRW. You can rent or buy one. Press it back on when your done.

It doesn't look like a hex. Two ways to tell for sure:
1) Measure the diameter of the can, they are different size.
2) put an Allen wrench in there and see if it's a hex.

You don't use a bolt to install the pulley, you press it on.

I cut off the end of an Allen wrench to put in the hex hole for using a puller on it so it wouldn't ruin the shaft or the pulley with the arbor of the puller.
