Female Singers Who's Your Fave?

I think you have to divide the different eras!

I love most the 60's Motown stuff
Aretha, Wells, Gladis Night, Supreme's etc.
In the 70's & 80's more rock & roll stuff
Wilson sisters, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Lita Horn
Stevie Nicks before she went batshit crazy
the regulars mainstream rock/rhythm ladies

(Later I was far more of a Ted Nugent, AC/DC, Molly Hatchet, Def Leppard
Lynyrd Skinner, Creedence, Kiss, Rush, Van Halen, Peter Frampton
Rossington Collins, Dr. Hook, Buffalo Springfield, Cream, Eric Clapton
a lot of Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, surf music etc. "I loved my rock"
was not big into most girls bands, some lead singers were really good
)

in the later 90's
I wanted to be the meat in a Faith & Shania sandwich

All of the above. Linda Ronstadt certainly stands out in my mind after watching her on Austin City Limits one night.

I like Carole King too.

Something to be said for doing both.
Not bad for a live perfomance.

Album cut of the voice.
Contralto?
It's rare.

They had fantastic voices.
Didn’t anyone see Tommy Boy with that famous convertible GTX?

Jump into the way back machine and give Mary Ford a listen too, of course, accompanied by her husband at the time the legendary Les Paul.

If your a fan of Carole King, when you get up my way try and see the musical "Beautiful". Its a great show all about her life, you and yours will enjoy it

Terry Nunn One hell of a voice.

Annie Haslam - Renaissance (when she's not painting vaginas) yes, she is a little coco too
Karla Bonoff - great songwriter and musician
And #1 - Juice (Judy) Newton. There was a video of her from Austin City Limits where she hit some notes that brought the house down. The best that I can find now is below. When you get into your 60's (she will be 70 this year) and you can still sing like this live, you make my list.
