Fender Pentestar meaning..

Tallhair..The Jensen is getting a couple dings worked out as I get a minute her and there and I will eventually spray a bit of color. (Tangerine is the original color) Thank goodness it is as rust free as any car I have seen, low mileage original that has been on blocks with the wheels off for many years. It is not a forefront project at the minute and would not be a good time to start a thread as my attention on the car is going to be at best sporadic. I am close to putting in the last of the metal on a car for a friend and at the same time real close on completing my '48 Plymouth Bz Cp with complete modern Mopar running gear/electronic including body controller, SRS and ABS brakes, AC and all other accessory upgrades and revamped interior all from the donor vehicle. I vow to finish these prior to getting deep into another project. For now, just collecting parts for my projects is rainy day/after hour quiet time activity.

Would love to see the details (photos and explanations) of your `48!

With apologies to the B-body forum I post this by request..Thanks for your forgiveness..the photo documentation and daily log of activity for time spent on the '48 project is quite a lot of blurbage and many many photos..this however does leave a paper trail and creates it's own build sheet and wiring diagrams changes made along the way. This vehicle is sitting quietly in the spray booth, I say quietly, I swear I hear it growl at me as I walk by. The process to get where I am at required removal of the body from the frame...frame cut and spliced with the front clip of the donor. Engine moved back 7 inches from original cradle mount. Installation of the firewall from the donor and the floor pan and trimmed/fabricated to lay flush and full perimeter weld to the original floor and all cross braces modified to accommodate this change and retain body integrity. I used all the donor parts excluding radiator (Griffin) and the wiper motor, did not like the vacuum model so do my own modification there. Its been fun and I am anxious to get this going as it will be my daily driver. Couple pics...remember..work in progress...the pic loader has these out of order..sorry..

My 66 Belvedere I has the gold star so it must be a high performance model with the /6 and automatic! :D Dad had a 63 Dart and I don't remember it having one....

I was just standing there while this guy was rambling on about all he knew about mopars and his 2010 Challenger ......I had to be nice and not walk away cause I didn't give a ****

There's one or two at every large car show. Usually they are with a buddy and not only do they know everything about your car, they know everything about everybody’s... they tend to talk loudly enough so everyone around can hear how smart they are. Most of the time they make a point of telling you what's "wrong" instead of acknowledging the work you've done or what's "right" about the car. My patience depends on my mood that day. you were probably more gracious than i would have been...

:iamwithstupid: or ask them where's their car at ??, why isn't it there ??, it seems, they always either don't have one there, they are looking for one {will lowball you} &/or it's torn apart & probably won't ever be reassembled/finished, because they don't have the proper skills... all their skill & knowledge is from dad's car & what he did or someone else's cars, not ever their own personal experiences... Those types...LOL... They just like to run their mouths usually...

He had a car there it was one of the new 392 Hemi Challengers .....I got a lecture about it and a lecture about how I should be taking my car to more all mopar shows

Reluctant to show as the beast if not ready for prime time...but a couple members have asked for a shot of the car....remember been sitting 20+ years....couple shots as I snag it from its lair to go home with me...the parts are in the trunk..good intentions by the PO to strip for paint..and as you can see..that is about as far as it got...

Not to hi-jack someone else's thread, I'm just curious... cool old Jensen Interceptor... is it 440ci 7.2ltr powered {they didn't make a 400ci 6.6ltr did they ??} what year ??

- - - Updated - - -

sorry I just saw in an earlier post, it's a 440ci III Series 4...

- - - Updated - - -

Didn't they also offer a 383ci 6.3ltr in an earlier year ?? I seem to remember them... I could be wrong...

I also apologize for the hi-jacking..I made a response to the origninal thread and hav e since tried to repond to a couple questions of interest, but yes Budnicks, you recall correct, the 383 was the engine of choice but as Chrysler started the phasing out of these ..late 71 Jensen made the move to the 440..there were also 232 of these in six pack versions...all with AC...
