Fendertag 1966 Coronet 440...

All the 1966 B body cars I've ever owned or seen except 225 six cyl cars have had an 8 3/4 axle.
Not sure about 273.

Yes, that is what you have.

There is nothing wrong with a 741 casting.

Most common ratio I've seen is 2.94:1

Yes, harder to find parts for and items like a four barrel intake and headers are much more expensive.

My 66 poly was the torquiest 318 I've ever had.

Is a Poly more or less desireable than the LA version?
One downside to the Polyspherical - much like its' big brother the Hemispherical - is it's relatively Heavy! A Poly is close to as much as a regular 440...like 50 or 70 pounds less, I believe?

I wouldn't worry about that.

Shortblock is same weight just heads and intake are heavier, but much wider than the LA. Much less hipo parts for the poly.

Big blocks have a different bolt pattern, so there's a BB 727 and SB 727.
There's also one made for the slant 6 too. In all versions, there were both long tail slip yoke and short tail bolt-on flange versions, along with both linkage and cable shift depending on year. Truck/van/motorhome versions have a timing hole cut into the bell housings for easier ignition timing. The A100 version has a unique mount where the transmission hangs from a mount rather than sitting on one.

My info lists a G1 as being tinted glass all windows. Doesn't look like it from your photos though...
