No. This was my first time ever going to the track in any car was letting off the gas to early. Motor made 615hp and 624tq. Hopefully the taller tire will drop my rpms
Does Viking give suggestions? My QA1's give some starting points. Again it takes trials to figure it out. If the front felt stiff on the street, loosen the compression a few numbers. I expect you find that what feels good on the street won't be what the car wants at the strip. Certainly at the track the fronts want lower rebound resistance, maybe moderate compression. The rears, depend on how hard the springs want to arch. If you hurt the Mancini snubber, I presume lots of spring reaction. Clamping the rear leafs may help. I took my pinion snubber off fairly early in my racing days. I used the leaf spring combination & the shocks. Worked for me. Took the snubber off my Satellite right away. If the springs are arching enough to hurt the snubber, clamp the spring in the rear half. You may only want a 2-3" rise. You may need to work/change the leaf spring package. I changed mine many times on '65 Coronet before getting the results I wanted. Now with my Satellite doing the same thing. Cal Tracs may be my next move. Good luckIf I may,
I just put Viking 18 way double adjustable front shocks and Competition Engineering CEE-2730 3 way adjustable shocks on the rear. 315/35/17 Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials.
My drive home from the shop was worrisome, because the front felt stiff.
Any suggestions on front compression and rebound for crusing and alternatively for the track? Rears are set at 50/50 for now. All other suspension parts are stock. 70 Roadrunner 440+6 Passon a855 5 speed, 4.10 Dana 60, no weight reduction. I bent my Mancini pinion snubber so I took it off.
Thanks.
