Finally made my first pass

Frame connectors, at least a 6 point bar. My Coronet had 2 front bars, main hoop, angle bars from the main hoop to the frame connectors, 2 bars to the shackle area. This makes a very stiff chassis & added safety if the worst thing happens. That tubing really means a lot if something goes wrong. I walked away from 6 -7 barrel roles & 3 really hard endo's. Tubing be good.

I got back in the saddle & kept winning races. When you get the feel of driving, the winning comes.

Takes time to really learn how to drive well. Practice, practice, practice. Took me two years before I learned how to win a drag race. But once you get the feel for the car & get the feel for the lights & know how to drive the last 100' sure gets fun.

What do you mean by driving the last 100'? Are you referring to letting off the gas to make the race closer?

Ah, makes sense thank you. I still haven't made one pass yet, which makes me very jealous of all you guys. One day...

In bracket racing you only want to beat your opponent to the finish line by a small margin and not go quicker than your dial in time. Don't take the win light by more the you need to.I was chasing one of the best bracket racers in the country, when I got along side him, tapped the brake pedal, took the win light by about a foot, .01 over my dial. Don't take the win light by too much or if you won't get the win light get on the brake & hope he's going to fast. That's what I mean by the last 100 feet.

A little update for you. My son did run Hoosier QTP tires but last weekend we went racing and he switched to the M/T SS drag radials. I for got the number size but they are 26" tall and about 9" wide. He ran about 17 psi in them and had his best ever 60 ft. His best has been and 11.41 @ 117 with a 1.60 best 60 ft. He ran 11.40's with a 1.59 best 60 last weekend as he said even on the first pass they hooked great on his car. Its basically all stock suspension with SS springs and the longer shocks in the rear. He was very happy because with the Flow Masters he had on it he had to space the headers since they slowed the car down 2 tenths when all capped up. Well we put a set of Dyno-Max Ultra-Flows on it and he did not uncap it and still ran 11.40's which he had to space the header collectors to run 11.40's with the Flow Masters. He loves the Ultra-Flow mufflers and the M/T SS drag radials that worked great on his Dart. Good luck with your car , Ron

I didn't make it to the track when they were new. Mine only have 700 miles on them and made it to the track once. 4500stall on the street they didn't have a chance with 600+ of torque. The viking shocks made a huge difference. You can fell the shocks pushing the car towards the pavement.

We leave with that same tire at 4000 off a trans brake. Ours ar rd totally bald. Plenty of street miles and track passes. 1.37 60ft last time out. You'll get there.
