bad news... primed the engine oil 2 nights ago...

cause im paranoid about the engine sitting for 3 years.... acually went smoothly. didnt think id get that oil drive shaft out that easily... anyway went to start it for the first time in 3 years last night and it cranked a few times then all of a sudden a sudden metalic thud!!

proceeded to put a ratchet on the crank and no movement at all. then rotated the engine backwards and i think i heard something fall within the engine... like drop into cylinder... not for sure. after that noise i was then able to hand crank the engine over without issue... but.... i a scope and that i was gonna stick in each spark plug hole to verify FM or not. but camera to big. just ordered a smaller one to hopefully get inside each cylinder with out pulling the heads... F!!!!

Well found the problem!!! Luckily its not internal!! Still going to scope the inside to be sure....

So anyway I was under the car working on hooking up the steering again... and thought about looking inside the scatter shield... I knocked on it and heard something inside... so I pulled it and this is what I found...

So my next fear was I cracked or knocked teeth off my new flywheel!! Rotated it 360° and it just scored the back side....

Needless to say this is a relief compared to something inside the engine...
If all goes well she will awaken this weekend for the first time in 3 years!

Should I post a video? ;)
 
Is that a de-burring or cutting bit? I see those when working heads....wtf? hope it all works out. :headbang:

anyway the idiot's at the part store screwed me and sold me a pan for a B block and not a RB block when i told them i had a RB 440! grrr!

TIG welded some -AN fitting onto the bulk head i got.

x2 That's a given on here lol. Like what you did with the AN fittings, hopefully I can make it to powertour in the next couple years. You should post another thread following your time there if you make it! Looks like a lot of fun
