It’s hard to choose a favorite, but this 2” S&W Model 60 is my EDC. I load it with Hornaday 158gr SJHP .357 and appendix carry in a Bianchi “Professional” holster.

I’ve pulled it twice in North Minneapolis when things got weird, fortunately it caused the aggressors to de-escalate in both instances so I was able to avoid shooting them…

My daughters gun is probably one of my favorites, my first was a NEF Padner 12ga with a 3 1/2 slug barrel and shot barrel. So I bought my daughter this Wild Turkey Federation 410/.22 combo. Added a Hawke red dot to the stupid heavy.22 barrel.

In all the forensic seminars I attended during my legal career the presenters always spoke of only two alternatives for civilian professionals. The two choices were short barreled 12 gauge pump, or .22 pistol with hollow points.

These 2 are the most frequently used guns in my modest collection.

Still have my old Padner too!
My shotgun now is a Browning Silver, absolutely love it.

My current favorite AR, assembled from scratch using mid tier parts. It’s a pin and welded Criterion CORE 14.5” barrel chambered in .223 Wylde. It’s lightweight, well balanced and a tack driver with my default .556 55gr hand loads…

Without a doubt my favorite hands down is a Denel NTW 20 because you have a choice of 3 different calibers in one rifle and you can really reach out and touch someone.

Got this the other day. (USPS 2 weeks AR to OH. )

Looks pretty good, has some adjustments I’ll have to fiddle with and try out.
Ed, it’s reversible!

Sweet! I'll be interested in your review after you use it for a while. I already know the FN is a fine piece. I've shot my buddy's .40.

Anybody here use a rifle scabbard on a tractor? I need to mount one on mine. One of the horse pastures is lousy with groundhogs and they are not afraid of the tractor so they don't hide right away. I'll bust their *** with the 30-30 but I need to carry it while on the tractor.

Do you possibly have a 6.5 Grendel?
I'm thinking of one for my daughter. She's 9 this weekend so I'm thinking of that or 350 Legend.

12ga shorty and .357 Mag SW for the house. A pair of 22 rifles and a million rounds of LR for plinkin.

.243 is a nice light round with minimal recoil. Good choice for developing shooters as it won't make them recoil sour.

Two extremes that don’t really make sense. Plus , what is a “civilian professional?”

Before the horrible boating accident I used a Winchester Model 1300 Defender pump 12 ga 7+1 for primary home defense. Ammo was No 1 buckshot. .30 cal pellets vs .33 for .00 and 16 pellets vs 9 to 12 in a 2 3/4" shell.
EDC was a Sig P365XL w/manual safety. It's about a half inch taller and longer than the XL. Fits my hand better and it's stealth. Higher capacity EDC was a Springfield XD9 Mod2. Backup was a North American Arms .22mag 5 shot revolver. It also has a .22lr cylinder but I wouldn't use it for carry. .22lr is a legit backup caliber but not in this pistol. Your results may vary.
