I have put a little over 500 miles on my convertible in the last year. I was always a littled worried since the paint had no scratches or dents. Last time I drove it was Labor day weekend to the east side of the island to a car show. About 80 miles round trip.
Pulled the car out today to go for drive and noticed this dent below and above the lower body line of the passenger rear quarter panel.

There is a little black rubber type material by the dent, My only guess is the rear tire must have kicked up a piece of tire while on the freeway. I know things will happen when they get driven, But the first one ia always a bummer. Still going to try and drive the wheels off this thing. It's a great car to cruise in.

Ouch that hurts! I still have a few that are going to get paint, but I am building a few of them to be drivers, without going into expensive time consuming paint and bodywork. No stress, just drive and enjoy them with minimal worries.

I'd tell you to bring it by for a quicky fix, but.......
Might have to take you up on that. My wife had such a good time a Carlise this year, she been bugging me to go back next year, and bring the convertible. Wouldn't be that far. HAHA

do it....... I never leave the compound........ well except for Carlisle

I am skeptical of cause.
I don't know what caused it. But after getting home from the show, the car went up on the lift, and hasn't been down since. So I'm just guessing.

I was thinking of trying to take it to some shops to see if they think they could do it.

Had this happen on my
brand new car. Hit a heavy
piece of semi retread on the
freeway, heading to work at
4:00 am. (too dark to see it).
Luckily fixed under warranty.

I kinda remember the car in front of me swerved but there were cars on each side of me leaving me no place to go. But don't recall any loud noise, didn't see the dent until today.

Driving my (then) brand new 2014 Grand Cherokee home from the dealer, I got stuck behind a landscape trailer that wasn't tarped. Hit a bump, gravel EVERYWHERE. Chips in the fascia, bumper, hood, both fenders, windshield, roof, and both door A-pillars. Called the company on the signs on the truck doors, they basically said "screw you". Called my insurance (USAA), they said they'd fix it under my policy, no sweat. Sent an adjuster...wanted to repaint the fascia/bumper. Hood. L and R fenders (but NOT the flares - it's a Summit package with body-color fender flares). L and R doors. Roof. On a 3-stage pearl tricoat color. With less than 100 miles on it.

I decided I didn't want half my BRAND NEW tricoat Jeep repainted...so I bought some touchup paint, and put it on record that if the windshield chips started to spider they would do it anytime in the future. So far, so good - and it's in the garage at 104k now.

The first one always hurts the most!

I second the idea of massaging it out from within. There don't appear to be any creases in the dent, so it might "pop" back out decently well. Those PDR guys are magicians, too, so if you have any of them nearby definitely give them a try. If you don't trust yourself, ask a PDR guy first - that way you haven't taken a chance at making it worse for them. You'll be able to tell if they're confident or not, soon as they see it.
