I do know that my Uncle had a 64 Galixie with one and a friend had one in his 64 Fury. A 64 Chevy just went across the block at B J and it had one too. So at least 64 but may be sooner.

I'm old enough to remember,a friend of mine came by the station I worked at and showed me the
Newest invention! The Reverb Speaker!!!?
1964 SS Impala, how cool was that???

I still think reverbs are in and kool in a swingin and groovy way. I've never been without one.

1st time I heard of them was my step fathers 64 GTO

I had the Motorola Reverberation unit (Vibrasonic) in my first Road Runner. If I remember correctly, I mounted it in the trunk. Might have been under the rear package tray.
This was the under dash control unit.

I think this was the trunk unit.

It was cool sounding as I recall.

The ones I've seen were located in the trunk under the package tray. The controls were under the dash. The effect sounds like you're at a stadium or concert. Kind of an echo.

"Far out Man!" :fool:

Looking in the code book, 1963 might have been the first year. 1965 shows "rear seat speaker/reverberator" also.

Whats old is new. Last week we went into a "Long John Silvers" that we frequent, and they had a new reverberation sound system

I worked in a TV repair shop in the late 1970s that had a contract with a Pontiac Buick dealer for radio service.
For whatever reason, it seems LeMans had the reverberation option as the most popular. I do know I repaired these for mid 1960s Pontiac cars, and Delco even offered rebuild kits. The phonelic transducer would go dead.
Every unit I repaired mounted in the trunk below the package shelf.
