FiTech 3x2 bbl system

I sent Promax 3 good running (not perfect) Holley carbs and until I have time to work on them again, I have to reserve full judgement, but I still may go with the FiTech or F&B fuel injection system.
If I had to do it again (not knowing how my current situation will be resolved, hopefully for the better) I absolutely would go FiTech, and I was way ahead of where you are starting from.

That is a whole different and MUCH more expensive possibility. She wants any fuel injection 3x2 system to "look like" 3 Rochesters...Now there's a system like that in development, and there's one that is on the market...for $8,000!! by the time all fuel lines, pumps, etc are added to the $6k 3x2 system. A local friend got it and loves it though. Maybe the one in development can save me some money and make her happy.
My choices if I go fuel injection (only if I can't get my Promax modded Holley carbs straight) are the FiTech and the more costly (around $5k) F&B system with the cost of a controller included.

I have the unit, been working on the fuel tank from tanks inc., test fitted, its a nice product, would reccomend 100% it has a resovoir and a tube feed at the bottom of it from the main part of the tank, so no fuel flow interruption, a vent tube on top of the tank, the fuel pump has its own spot and another vent, and the sending unit has its own also both which are custom fit to the tank followed directions to a tee with some coaching from norm, should be a breeze it has a kind of ceramic looking finish on it. used the gas resistant permatex and anti sieze on the bolts. if you plan on ever doing anything with fuel injection norm is the man to talk too, he builds custom systems for anything has his own cnc machine that he programs himself in house, making the 3 dimensional parts needed builds wiring harness systems and is a very cool guy. norm ordered everything i need and does and have done installation for years and pioneered systems before they were systems. thanks very much for the hook up, and hes right in my back yard. going fishin next week and mcdonalds #4 starts when I get back, so will post after i get some time to make more progress, if you go to the 3x2 fitech description at there site and download the manual, it has some pretty cool options, that make this system seem pretty adjustable. recommended read.

here's the completed tank just have to hook up the lead for the pump and the sending unit. like i said it has two vents the one on the fuel pump mounting is lower than the breather vent on the tank so the lower vent will be tied into the original daytona fill tube, if this splashes enough which i doubt it will run back into tank and should relieve any pressure build up. the tank vent connects to a one way valve that lets air in, I will be tucking that as high as i can get it above rear end on shock cross member, new distributor and custom built black box controller that will be mounted on fire wall along with the new coil which is very GM looking which kind of sucks but at least everything is black and kind of matches the color scheme under the hood

I can’t speak about the FiTech six pack.. But I’ve been running a 600hp 4bbl system for over three years & it’s been great... Funny, I’ve always seen posts from guys suggesting FiTech is somehow a cheap product & not a trusted as the Holley Sniper.. My buddy with his Sniper just got towed for the forth time... My car keeps on motoring along... last weekend we took a trip up to Tahoe, a few of the passes are over 9500 ft.. Car ran perfectly...

Stone cold or hot soaked on a hot day, sea level or 10,000 ft doesn’t matter, the car starts quickly & easily and runs great...

In the past I ran a Holley EFI system, I was ready to sell the damn car it was such an unreliable pile...
Put a carb back on the car & didn’t look back, till someone other than Holley came out with a system for half the cost & when everyone wanted to know how they could sell it so cheap their response was “why do other companies charge so much”

That is the "impression" that I have had from what I have read. I don't know if that is because of an actual or perceived difference in capabilities, or why.

I will always have 3x2 of "something" on my V-code Roadrunner.

One thing that I haven’t been happy with since installing the FiTech system has been the accuracy of the fuel gauge... I used the same unit Don Selleck showed... It’s never been even close to accurate... I set it up according to the instructions, I’ve Dug back into it to confirm everything is set up properly but it just isn’t very accurate, and by not very accurate I mean I fill it up and for the first 150 miles it reads full... Then in the next 20 miles it drops to a half tank... Another 20 miles and it’s under 1/4 tank...

Today I installed a new sender, it’s a completely different design made by Issapro, sold by Tanks Inc...

Before I bought it I asked about it on another website where I knew a few guys had been using it.. They gave it positive reviews & I went ahead and ordered one....

I played with it before I installed it, hooked it the the sending unit wire & ground, key on, moved the internal float with a thin plastic rod & watched the gauge, it seemed pretty good, so I installed the new sender... As I filled the tank I stopped for five minutes every three gallons and watched the gauge... It appears to be very accurate... I highly recommend it...

I don't understand how the FiTech system has anything to do directly with the fuel gauge or sender.
I can see how you may have changed the sender or tank or fuel pump and lines to accommodate the EFI, but what does that have to do with FiTech otherwise?

It doesn’t... I replaced the stock tank & sender with a Tanks Inc EFI tank with a built in pump... That tank does not accept the OE style sender & when I bought the tank they only offered the normal swinging arm style sender... I”m only guessing but they probably had allot of complaints about how inaccurate it is so they found a better solution...

Hmm.... I just installed the Tanks Inc. efi tank with the "standard" sending unit. Haven't fired it up yet to verify the accuracy.

Good luck, I hope yours is better than mine was.. But if not know there is a solution... I wish Tanks Inc would just dump the regular sending units...

When ordering the tank I was talking to their tech and he recommended the sending unit you reference. My efi install is giving me dollar fatigue so I went with the cheaper unit.
