Flywheel weights...

So, I have heard that some flywheels have bolt on weights for cast crank engines. (440 Source, Hays?) Anybody seen this? Even better, anybody got a picture? (I'm solving some vibration issues on my 440/4spd conversion).
 
Maybe you could start from the "beginning" Not trying to be a smart *** but there is a lot of information missing. What pieces are you using from before the swap? Did your vibration started before or after the swap? What kind of vibration and when? Follow what I am getting at :) I might be wrong but I wouldn't know where you would begin to know where to place a weight and how much weight to use on a flywheel unless it was being spun on a machine that would give you this info. (Sorry if that was a little "long winded"...)

If I was asking for advice on the vibration, I would've included all of that info.
The short of it is....
440 Cast Crank motor that I was told had been internally balanced. It had a neutral damper and no weights on the converter. I swapped over to a 4 speed and got a neutral balanced flywheel. Got her running and it has a vibration just up from a grand. Swapped to a cast crank damper, (Thanks Joe), and the vibration has diminished immensely. Don't ask me if it had a vibration with the auto setup. I didn't own the motor or drive it that way.
SOOOOOO, back to point. I have read that some hi-po flywheels have come with bolt on weights. I would reference a thread on the A body site about 440 Source neutral flywheels coming with bolt on weights. I simply am asking for a pic of said weight for reference so I know what to look for when I crawl under my beast at start poking around.

Does that help clarify things?

If you take the "externally balanced" weight off the flywheel wouldn't the flywheel still be out of balance for an internally balanced engine, just because of the two weight mounting holes?
 
The HP Books Torqueflite A-727 handbook has weights and position for torque converters, pages 152,153+154 '73 and up. Don't know about flywheels,but would like to know.
 
My old Direct Connection Chassis book has the precise location and measurements for drilling the flywheel or adding weight to the flexplate.

I just bought the identical flywheel from The Driven Man in Tennessee. Believing that it was domestically produced, I paid appreciably more than the 440 source price and it turned out to have the same part numbers. Anyway, after removing the bolt on weight as I have an internally balanced engine, it appears that the flywheel is going to be out of balance because it has four (not just two) holes drilled and tapped for the weight. No other holes other than for the clutch. I am going to have it checked just to be sure before installing it.

Yeah, there are going to be a couple of different positions for the weights. There are actually a couple of different weights, also. From what I have been able to learn the reason would be the flywheel will fit small and big block Mopars and there are different configurations for external balanced SBs, external balance BBs and sixpack motors.
