I remember the old MKT tracks near here looked like that before the railroad folded. Trains wobbled so bad it looked like they would tip over and they were limited to about 15-20 mph.

Prior to the Staggers act (1980) that removed ancient controls placed on railroads, many lines recorded video of their terrible trackwork and even some derailments, some of which have been accused of being staged or partially staged.

I don't know how old that is, but I'm surprised the NTSB hasn't comdemed that line? The drivers even stupid for taking a train on that line! Total fail on all parties involved.

I believe the NTSB only has authority over "public" rail lines. That example is probably a spur.
