My family had a couple of them over several years, when I was young. I was so damn embarrassed of those cars at that time. I’d love to own one now. My point is related to a lot of cars over time. Cars that used to be laughing stocks are now very desired. El Camino, Dodge Darts, etc. etc. It’s funny how time changes our point of views.My parents had a Chevette while I was in high school (1976) - went on my first "car date" in one of those. I would always tell my friends when I borrowed it from my parents that I was bringing the "Vette" ... ha ha!
Yes there was and I see each year in Flint. There is one of these that show up every year to the Back to the Bricks show in Flint. Its the only one I have ever seen.Didjaknow, there was a diesel chevette? With a five speed stick (no auto option), 51hp, 0-60 of 20 seconds (!?!) and 55mpg. The very definition of rare, but undesirable.
