Hi all Im looking to decode fender tags again. I used to do this all the time and Im sure I did it in my sleep as well. I had a stroke a few years ago and lost a lot of memory.

I used to decode cars at shows, car lots and if someone sent the fender tag to me to decode I would do it then as well. I used to do this on a lot of differnt brands not just Mopars.

If you have a fender tag and you want it decoded please post here and pm me. Im doing this to build my memory up on the codes again and I just really liked doing it.

The years I can do right now are 1968-1974. I know when going through a lot of my books Im sure I will be able to decode the cars from 1967 and back.

Thanks everyone and I look forward to learning not only the codes but more about your car as well and helping you to know more about your car.

One more note if sending fender tag info and your worried I do not need the last part of the vin number.

I have decoded mine but this one has a mistake , can you tell me what the factory mistake on mine is

Hey Moparstuart I will decode it and see what I come up with. I wanted to ask if there is any way you could type it out as some of the codes seem to not show up so good for me.

Thanks man.

I will decode them both and then pm you with it. I just did a 70 Bee on another board and I learned a few things today and racked my brain on a few codes that I just couldnt find.

Im enjoying this and its helping bring a lot of the things I lost back slowly but I will get there.

I used to love to walk up to a car that was just there and I could decode the car and talk to the owner.

Thanks guys keep them coming.

The only thing I'm going to toss out is the mistake you made in typing your codes. You have "818" instead of "B18" for your build date. One would be August 18 of 1969, the other would be November 18 of 69. And since your sequence number is "161584" the build date has to be "B18"

but that isn't what you were referring to:grin:

Here is mine if you want to decode it

Thank you and I will get it done. I have two to get done yet and then I will get yours.

Looks like maybe a Road Runner but dont tell me I will find it out.

Im going to have to order a set of Galens books as well I see. I have two of them but need the option code ones.

The code on the top line 926 595 093 I know is going to stump me. I think from just looking at the code no book in front of me F8 is green with green seats.

Thanks and thank you everyone this is big help and its something I really missed doing over the last six years.

We never know what we miss till its goine so I tell everyone enjoy today and take the time to stop and look around. Thats one thing I didnt do and after having a stroke and loosing my speach and memory I dont miss a day now to look around and enjoy it.

The code that was typed wrong I caught it as I was writing it down. Thanks for that and I gotta get on that car now.

Thanks everyone keep them coming.

RS23L8G260046 i'll get a pic of the broadcast sheet up soon

thanks a mistype i fixed it

I'll give you a hint. That is a Lynch Road car, and those three codes denote the engine, trans, and rear end

I need to get Galens books that have more of the codes. I cant find any of those codes in my books.

I dont know if I can find them on the net any where. I have found a few places that have the break down of codes.

Im using a few differnt books that I bought years ago. I know the codes in Galens books would be 100% correct and I need to get them.

I have a 70 Coronet R/T registry that has over a 100 cars in it (Im thinking 200) that most of the cars I decoded years ago.

I think I was in the process of decoding a few cars when I had a stroke as I have the code info (no contact info) wrote down. I know I used to decode the cars for free for guys if they gave me their fender tag to put in my 70 Coronet R/T registry.

Im not wondering if I missed giving the info to anyone.

So do you guys use Galens books? I think once I get ahead a bit after either getting a welder or letting one of the guys we talked to weld up my car I will get the books.

Thanks everyone I will get the Charger done later today and also the Road Runner.

careful......sometimes I LISTEN to what those voices tell me:rolling:
